1,200 OUYA Dev Consoles Shipped

OUYA founder Julie Uhrman announced via a blog post that 1,200 Ouya developer consoles shipped on December 28th — the early version of the OUYA that developers will use to start making games.

The kit includes a jet-black devs package, “frameable” welcome letter, frosted translucent dev console, a micro-USB port, two controllers (with batteries included), an HDMI cable, a micro-USB cable, and a power adapter.

You can check out this unboxing video to see for yourself:

Uhrman stressed that the kits are “a work in progress,” stating, “Yes, we know the D-pad and triggers on the controller still need work — the final version will be different,” and that “There will also be plenty of bugs.” She also revealed an image of an “early early early” version of the UI (see image above).
