What a complete and utter load of crap. I wonder if the judges have even played any games over the last year.

Is there anyone that agrees with the chosen winners...

Also, Halo wasn't any kind of revolutionary, it is more of a Halo 2 mod.

That could be it; however, I have a personal gripe with that, simply because it's a 2007 award. I would think that they would be looking at games in light of the current gaming environment, and not that of 1997.

That's just me, though.

Perhaps Ron, they were taking multiplayer back to the roots when considering that factor and decided that Sports had the best offline multiplayer as it involved so many people and was so fun. Just guessing though. I am entirely surprised it won that when I was certain WoW would get it.

And the winner of the BAFTA Award for Best Multiplayer Game is................

Wii Sports?

I mean, seriously. World in Conflict alone pounds Wii Sports into the ground. WoW's Burning Crusade expansion is packing how many million subscribers? Battlefield 2142 killed the series, and was still better than Wii Sports. Heck, even Crackdown was a more lasting multiplayer experience.

Don't get me wrong, Wii Sports can be fun under an exact set of conditions (friends over, everyone into the game), but these games have one thing that Wii Sports doesn't, and that's the ability to play multiplayer without being in the same room. That alone should have put them over the hump.

Then again, I just read through most of the article after the break, and realiseda bunch of the games aren't even out yet. Hmmm. :?:

I'm thinking cut-off date. Or maybe it just wasn't the best, and that's from a devoted Halo fan.
