2K Sports Announces 'Don King Presents: Prizefighter'

Don King

2K Sports announced today that the sports publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. will be releasing ‘Don King Presents: Prizefighter’ in the spring 2008. 2K is calling it “the most realistic boxing video game simulation, for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Nintendo’s Wii™ home video game console and Nintendo’s DS™ portable system”.

The game boasts photo-realistic graphics combined with realistic fight scenarios, story-drive gameplay and more. The game will also feature some well known boxers.

The game itself is being developed by Venom Games, who brought Rocky and Rocky Legends to the original Xbox and PlayStation 2. Let’s hope they learned something since then, because it will take a great game to knock the Fight Night series out of 1st place. Rocky and Rocky Legends definitely fell short of my expectations at the time, but it looks like they may be putting a lot more effort into this title.

I am very excited about this game, but laughing at this article, particularly the statement, “Let’s hope they learned something since then, because it will take a great game to knock the Fight Night series out of 1st place.” I have zero doubt that Prizefighter will be a great game, but FNR3 can be toppled by a mediocre game, because FNR3 is pure garbage. The author of this article is ignorant to the sport of boxing.
