3 New Games Free On Playstation Plus In July

Sony kind of, sort of wowed a lot of people last month at E3, when they announced big changes to Playstation Plus; free game downloads for members, every month, with an ever-growing list to choose from. The first slate of games announced for Playstation Plus was kind of impressive. It included Saints Row 2, Little Big Planet 2, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Just Cause 2, as well as several PSN titles. This suggested that PS+ members could look forward to a full year of access to a range of PS3 titles of varying quality, and not just crummy downloads that barely come in cheaper with the subscription.

Alas, month two of the Playstation Plus era is upon us, and Sony has announced the next set of free downloads for PS+ members. They’re kind of disappointing. Starting today, PS+ members can download Gotham City Imposters (a very meh game), Renegade Ops, and Pac-Man DX.

Kind of a disappointing slate after a strong first month. While these are ok games, it would be annoying if the AAA games were only available once to hook people. Sony has a huge slate of games. Hopefully, future updates delve into them a little more.

Full disclosure: I attended the Sony E3 press conference and received a free membership for one year.
