5 Essential GTA IV Mods

UPDATE: March 30, 2013: We’ve added four bonus mods to the list!

When will Grand Theft Auto V release? That’s the million dollar question. While we continue to wait, GTA IV continues to be a viable option; but why play the vanilla game when you can 1-up your experience with some mods?

So for anyone intent on playing GTA IV, we’ve assembled this list of five essential mods that will enhance your experience. Note that this isn’t strictly a list of the best mods, but rather the mods that you shouldn’t do without.

Bonus Mod 1: Simple Trainer

This trainer comes with a menu system that allows users to configure all car options, bodyguard and pedestrian spawning, car spawning, mission help, object spawning, teleporting, weapons, weather, and more. What’s not to like?

Bonus Mod 2: iCEnhancer 2.0N – ENB Graphic Mod

This graphical overhaul mod improves the game’s visuals, specifically by modifying shaders, but with other tweaks included as well.

It is recommended that you back up your game before installing this mod.

Bonus Mod 3: GTA IV Car Spawner

This handy tool allows you to conveniently spawn any car in GTA IV right in front of Niko. What more can you ask for?

Bonus Mod 4: Realistic Car Pack

Here’s a car pack the replaces 95 in-game car models with new, jazzy models, and additionally includes 23 sports cars. If you’re looking for a sexy car pack, this is it.

For a mod that gets so much coverage, it’s disappointing, and not just a little frustrating, that the iCEnhancer doesn’t even work with the latest patch. Especially so considering that all steam users are forcibly updated to it.
