5 Games That Could Use a Christmas-Themed Mod

Oh snap, y’all, it’s December aka Christmas time. To get in the spirit of Christmas, I’m going to let you into my brain a little bit so you can see some ideas I have for some Christmas-themed game mods. Are you ready? Here we go.

1. Skyrim

Skyrim is already halfway to being about Christmas anyway because of all the snow everywhere. In that way, it’s kind of already in the spirit of Christmas; you just have to push it over the top. What you’ll need to do is add some things to the towns to make them feel more Christmas-y, like banners that say Merry Christmas and Christmas lights and wreaths on people’s houses. And, of course, you’ll need to be able to put stockings over your hearth in your houses. Oh, and you’ll need to create a Santa Claus NPC and have him wander around the world. Can you imagine?

2. Minecraft

You know, I’m sure this has already been made, but still. For this mod you’ll need a map with a snowy mountain, and you’ll need to replace all the creepers with elves and the pigs and other animals with reindeer. And you’ll go in and completely mess everything up with your giant candy cane axe. Nothing says “getting in the Christmas spirit” like totally messing up Christmas for everyone. God, this is the best mod ever.

3. Serious Sam 3: BFE

One of the cool thing about Serious Sam 3 is the gore settings. You can make it so all kinds of different things come out of bad guys when you shoot them. You can have regular red blood, green blood, different colored stars or flowers explode out of your enemies. My proposed Christmas mod would be a few new gore options; namely, one with snow and one with candy canes and cookies. I think this mod could make for the happiest murder spree you could imagine.

4. Rage

Rage, as you would expect from its name, is a very serious game. We need to lighten this thing up with a new clan of douchebags you have to murder. Oh no, it looks like Santa and the elves have given Wellspring an early Christmas present… by poisoning the water supply! You better get out there and take care of those dastardly elves. This mod will feature a killer boss fight, too, with Santa in his sleigh flying around shooting rockets at you.

5. Saints Row: The Third

Man, I don’t even know what you would need to add for a Christmas mod in Saints Row: The Third, but I know it needs to be done. Just make it snow, I guess, and give you a sleigh to drive around in, and give you a big ole candy cane to hit people with. Oh, and let you dress like Santa, of course. OK, so maybe I did know what this mod needed. And it sounds amazing.

Lol, 1,2,3,4,6. Phil needs to learn how to count ;)

Jokes aside, I customized my Painerly Pack to be Christmas-y, but I haven’t played the other games yet.

Painterly Pack, for those who don’t know what I’m taking about: http://painterlypack.net/index.html

Er…I assume that’s sarcasm? I didn’t make it, nor I was I trying to claim credit for it(If that’s what you were thinking). I do apologize if it sounded like I was trying to take credit >.>
