86-Year-Old Gamer Keeps Mentally Active with GTA 4, Disgaea

Hilda Knott, who will be celebrating her 86th birthday next month, has been playing video games for 40 years, and believes they’ve been keeping her mentally active.

In an interview with BBC reporter Bryony Mackenzie, Knott explained what she enjoys about video games and how they’ve been working her mind.

“I played this one with my aunt, who is now 94,” said Knott, while playing what appeared to be Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3, “and we had a hilarious time.”

What does Knott enjoy about video games? “Finding something new in the game,” she said. “Getting onto the next stage, or the next event, or whatever. And then I have the achievement of finishing it.”

The octogenarian also agrees with the notion that games have kept her mentally active, saying, “Oh definitely, yes. Because a lot of them, as well as adventures and fighting, are puzzles — working out how to do something, when to do it.”

So… coolest grandma ever?

Id be a pretty bad@ss grandpa in a few decades. Thing is, I doubt if I’ll ever have a girl friend to start a family with in the first place.
