RUMOR: ActiVision To Announce Call of Duty: Online.

Rock Paper Shotgun has reported that sources within ActiVision are confirming an announcement sometime today regarding the Call of Duty series. Those sources are claiming it’s something called Call Of Duty Online.

This isn’t a total surprise. ActiVision has been hinting at something called an ‘online solution; for the Call of Duty franchise for months. What that means has, until now, been rather murky but if the announced new CoD game is indeed Call Of Duty Online, it narrows down the possibilities considerably. Call of Duty is already nothing but perfunctory story framing a robust online multiplayer. The only way to double that up is to go full-on World of Warcraft.

We’ll keep our base speculation to a minimum until the announcement, assuming it comes. We’ll let you know as soon as the news is official.

Maybe they’ll put it on the same outdated engine as the last four games and then charge us full price for it!

These games aren’t new, they are expansion packs!

Hey, remember in the PC community how DLC was always free? NAY! ACTIVISION SAYS YOU MUST PAY MONEY FOR THAT WHICH SHOULD BE FREE!

Also note, its funny they charge for map packs, when as I stated before, ever since COD Modern Warfare, each game has been nothing more than a giant map-pack and new weapons. They’ll keep selling the same at full price, and morons will keep buying.

Put forth some effort! COD has quickly became EA’s Madden. New game each year, nothing new.

Maybe they’ll lose so horribly to battlefield 3 that we’ll forget what call of duty was altogether?
