A Look At A ‘More Dynamic’ Commander Shepard

It’s no secret that combat in Mass Effect 3 is going to be significantly more hardcore than even ME2. We’ve had plenty of experience with that, but what we haven’t had the chance to experience is the way Commander Shepard has been changed as a result of that ramped up combat system. Now’s our chance. This week’s BioWare Pulse has a brief but meaty look at the way they’ve adapted the commander to appear more dynamic during combat, including a more involved interaction with events and the environment. You’ll need to skip the first 30 seconds or so, however, as they’re just a plea to hurry up and vote for ME3 as the most anticipated game of 2012 for this year’s VGAs, airing on Spike tomorrow.

They talk about animation synchronisation as if it’s new. It’s been used in games ever since 2003. And the melee.. I’d rather just keep the old Melee, which is just a quick bash, which seems to waste less time, other than going into some massive Melee animation that takes up a second of your time in combat, that only does a small amount of damage.
