A Michael Jackson Game of Some Sort Exists at Ubisoft
You’ll forgive me for not posting about this last night, and if you watched Ubisoft’s press conference you’ll know why I didn’t. At the tail end of a presser so absurd it sent me into a stunned stupor, Yves Guillemot was all like, “I got one more thing for y’all,” and then Beat It started playing and some people started dancing while the big screen read, “Michael Jackson.” And eventually the song ended and the presser was over with no explanation. And then I started drinking grain alcohol (true story), and one thing led to another and yada yada yada. Hit the jump for the reason I’m telling this story.
However, I later learned via press release that the dance number was more than just another bit of weirdness; it’s a game, duh. Per the release: “Today, Ubisoft® announced the development of an interactive performance-based video game, inspired by the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The game is family entertainment at its best and will provide an interactive experience that enables players to step into the shoes of Michael Jackson himself and re-live his most iconic performances through their own singing and dancing.”
That could be pretty alright.
No release date info yet, but I can say this thing will somehow be available on 360 with Kinect, PS3 with Move, Wii, DS and PSP. Insanity.
