A Portal 2 Mod That Lets You Play Against Yourself

Because who doesn’t want to play with themselves?

So you’ve conquered Portal 2 and your friends just can’t keep up with amazing skills, right? Well then, Ruslan “Stridemann” Rybka created a mod that’s perfect for you.

Thinking with Time Machine” is a Portal 2 mod that adds a unique twist on solving its maps. The time machine duplicates your character and, through the use of a record/replay-an-echo mechanic, allows you to record your movements which your doppelgänger will recreate. This isn’t just movement either. Pressing buttons, creating portals and picking up items are all within the capabilities of your other self.

The one main downside to this mod so far is the lack of content. By the time you get used to the additional mechanics of it all, it’s done. This can be helped if Stridemann either adds new maps or allows others to create maps for it.

In any event, it’s certainly an interesting idea and given the mod is free, certainly worth checking out. It does require a copy of Portal 2. This much seemed obvious, but I guess it should be pointed out.
