A Sneak Peek at the Brand New FileFront

Dear readers,
It’s time to pull back the curtain…

FileFront.com is undergoing an exciting mutation! We’ve been toiling away behind the scenes, building the site into something bigger and better. Next week, FileFront will look hotter, and will offer more editorial content from our new team of writers. Today, we get to show you a sneak peak of the changes ahead. (click through for image)

How Are Things Changing, Exactly?

  • First, the site is undergoing an expansive redesign and general beautification. We hope to improve your experience with the site visually, and also to make it easier to find our best content.
  • Second, we are attaching a whole new “editorial wing” to the site. FileFront will still be your destination for every gaming file, but now we’re expanding to offer news, game reviews, walkthroughs, cheats, and even coverage of mods and hardware! Our editors span the gaming world, covering PC, console, and portable games.

We’ve arranged a little sneak peek at the upcoming new design for you (picture below). We hope you like it, and we hope to see your thoughts and comments on the big changes rolling out at FileFront.

I am a fan of the darker theme and I hope the network get’s tied in nicely with this new layout.

I thought the “Game On” tagline was removed many moons ago for legal reasons…. although I liked it.

New site looks very, very good…. matching forum skin for the win however!

….Sorry, just looking at the footer, are you changing the name from FileFront to GameFront or something?

Where’s the blue? I must say, the current design fails so hard, but hell, filefront without blue? No way.

Looking forward to the new redesign! As much as I love blue, I’m definitely feeling the green. :)

That was a ‘code name’ title for this new homepage. Good catch!

Oh look.
Another website having its appearance changed to all dark colors.

I suppose there won’t be an option to use the original white and blue skin theme instead?

Very good… But it desperately needs a new logo. And maybe some sort of reflection. I hope performance (as in loading times) isn’t affected.

Very interesting. May take a while to get used to but the experience might be worth it.

are u going to move the projects as well??

You guys have done a great job, nice.

I agree that you should have an option to change the color scheme in member preferences though. keep the black look, but be able to change the part that is green to other colors

I actually honestly like it. I think change is good. I mean, while I love older stuff (nostalgic stuff), just…gotta move on. Can’t always be held up in the past. I like the new look, though — will need to get use to it, though.

Also, thanks for the explanation of the redesign, Mr. Burnham. Appreciate it.

To the staff: I’ve been using Filefront since my good ‘ol Battlefield 1942 days so many years ago. Amazing how far it came.

It’s wordpress?

I like it apart from the green not blue thing. It feels (to me) a bit – not Filefrontish.

Lets hope the random deletion of files will be fixed too, hmm? The Battlezone II community is plagued by it.

Which reminds me, I ought to ask – can we get our own little subsite? :P
