Abyss Odyssey: How to Unlock the Pincoya
Unlocking new characters is part of the dungeon-delving process in the procedurally generated dungeons of Abyss Odyssey, but the third primary antagonist isn’t so easy to find. Randomly, a special room will unlock and give you a chance to earn the unique Pincoya hero. Read on to get all the details.
This action-adventure platformer randomly creates new maps each time you play — that makes it a rogue-like in our books. Watch GameFront tackle some of these diabolically tough indie adventures on the Spelunky video guide, the Rogue Legacy walkthrough, or the FTL: Advanced Edition video series with James.
Unlocking New Characters in Abyss Odyssey
There are many extra characters to unlock in Abyss Odyssey, including enemies, bosses, and altered main characters with new movesets.
Most of these extra characters are acquired by capturing their souls. If an enemy is equal or lower level than the player they can be absorbed and transformed into.
La Pincoya is unlocked through a different method.
How to Unlock La Pincoya
To unlock Pincoya, you’ll need to discover a randomly generated room when the Abyss reforms. On each level, there is a chance Pincoya’s chamber will appear.
Look on the map for a yellow icon. This is the Pincoya room. Travel there, and try to collect as much cash as possible.
Reaching the Pincoya room, you’ll find a special shrine where cash is donated. You can donate in increments of 1k, 5k, or 10k gold.
Donate between 25k-30k to unlock Pincoya. That’s a lot of gold, so if you need help, work with a partner online — all of their donated gold counts towards the host’s total instead of their own.
