Activision Overinflated Some Modern Warfare 3 Numbers

Last week, Activision told us something crazy. They said that 3.3 million people had played Modern Warfare 3 at the same time over Xbox Live.

Apparently, that was not true.

The truth is that the maximum concurrent players they had over Xbox Live was a more believable 1.4 million, while that larger number was referring to players, total, in one day.

That’s kind of a big difference, guys. Those two things are not the same thing at all. At all. But that’s OK. We don’t really care about this number anyway. At least you didn’t lie about something important, like the amount of money you grossed on the game. That would be more offputting. So we cool, Activision.

Permanent Ban ! Permanent Ban ! Permanent Ban ! F-king liars and cheaters skewing their stats, they’re no better than their own customers they are banning.

If this is how they operate, then any cheaters should be allowed to tell the truth and say that they made an error to get their banned accounts back!

The kids who buy it don’t care unless they’re at the receiving end of a ban.
