FunCom has announced a partnership with 1C which will make a Russian Language build of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures possible. 1C will be taking care of voice and text as well as local customer service, communities, websites and in-game support in Russian. That leaves FunCom the back-end technology and server infrastructure as they continue to develop and update AoC. FunCom and 1C expect to launch in Q4 2008.
Russian is the sixth language build for AoC. A dedicated Russian server is great although Russians are already playing the game in other languages. That’s because they’re part of the multi-lingual club which most US citizens don’t qualify for.
