Nintendo’s starting off the week in good fashion with today’s Wii-kly Update. Two Virtual Console games and one WiiWare game have been released, and it’s not a half-bad selection from the look of it.
Gyrostarr (700 Wii Points) is the lone WiiWare game this week. It was developed by High Voltage Software and looks to play a lot like a modern version of Tempest, where you’re racing down a tube and shooting everything in sight — with up to four players, if you so choose.
The pair of Virtual Console games are Alex Kidd in Miracle World (500 points) and Burning Fight (900 points). I never had a chance to really play any of the Alex Kidd games (not to be confused with Billy the Kid, which is a game I did play) when I was younger, since I generally only had Nintendo systems. After checking out some videos of it, I’m not entirely sure the game would really sustain my interest. The same could be said for Burning Fight, but that’s only because it’s a shameless Final Fight knockoff.
