Call of Duty Ghosts DLC Launching “Exclusively First” on Xbox One
Call of Duty. Three words synonymous – despite being nominally a multiplatform franchise – with the Xbox 360. Activision plans to keep this partnership strong going forward to the Xbox One, and it was revealed at Microsoft’s conference today that DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts – the new Call of Duty showcasing a broken, beaten America much like the one in Homefront – will launch “exclusively first” on the new Xbox.
What does this mean? Well, it’s the same deal that PC gamers got in the last generation of CoD games. DLC comes out on Xbox Live before all other platforms, and drops on PC a few months later. It’s an unsurprising development, but will definitely keep the Xbox as Call of Duty’s “primary platform.” What is more interesting is that this seems to leave Xbox 360 players in the dust, encouraging them to upgrade to the Xbox One; at least, when the first DLC drops for Ghosts.
