GTA 5 Expected to Sell Upwards of 25M Copies In 12 Months

Grand Theft Auto 5 will sell more than 25 million copies in it’s first 12 months, according to EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich.

Divnich told NowGamer:

“The HD market is softening as we enter into the tail end of this generation, but fortunately this softening has had little impact on our precious AAA titles. In the case of GTA V, I have little concerns about when it is released. GTA IV already proved to the market that even an April release, which has historically been avoided by the industry, can support a 20M+ title.”

GTA 5′s release comes as worldwide PS3 and Xbox 360 sales are generally considered to have peaked.

Divnich went on to predict:

“Whether April, June, or even Winter, I’d expect GTA V to sell in upwards of 25M copies in its first 12 months.”

I remember playing the original GTA when it released… Who would have thought that simple but fun game of squashing pedestrians and fleeing from cops would evolve into what we see today?

Not by me.
If this game has no customization I’m not buying it.

Unless the PC version comes out within those first 12 months one of the sales will not be from me.

If the game is censored due to Australia (I live in New Zealand), then I’ll pay one of you guys to send me a copy (hooray for region-free xbox games ^^ )
