And Here is the Actual Winner of MLB 2K11′s Million-Dollar Perfect Game

When you think of the folks who play sports games obsessively, you will occasionally remember that there are true gamers like me and Ron who love that s–t, but most of the time we imagine them as douchetastic fratdaddies who venture away from Madden and the like only to play Call of Duty and Halo.

And so it is with great pleasure that we learn that the guy who made a million bucks by pitching the first verified perfect game in MLB 2K11 is of the nerd variety. A PC gamer nerd, even, who plays RTSes. Ridiculous.

The winner is (for real this time) Brian Kingrey, who isn’t a baseball fan and had never played a baseball video game before. He’s 25, and he lives on the far side of Lake Ponchartrain from the Big Easy. He learned the rules of baseball when he was making his attempt at the perfect game.

Thanks to Brian, nerds everywhere will start hoping that 2K renews their MLB license and keeps the franchise going, because any of us can take on and win this challenge, apparently. I’m even kinda pumped about the possibilities now.
