It seems like every day there is something to report in the way of new additions to the Guitar Hero and Rock Band music line-up and today, is no exception.According to Entertainment Weekly, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has stated that the band’s new single “Violet Hill” will be the first Coldplay song to be put on Guitar Hero.
While speaking to EW, Martin stated that “Violet Hill” for Guitar Hero was “not [all] about the piano s—”. True, most of Coldplay’s music is piano-centric and while I do indeed like the band every much, it is not known for ripping guitar solos – however if you have listened to “Violent Hill” you will notice right away that it is indeed a more guitar driven song (and a mighty good one too I might add).
The downloadable track will be part of the media blitz that will surround Coldplay’s new album, Viva La Vida (out June 17), so most likely you can expect it to be offered as DLC for GH:III. I am just curious as to what else will be included with the song considering these packs come with three tunes. More Coldplay with the piano being replaced by riffs or will it just be a small hodgepodge of bands?
