Another Teaser Arises for BioWare’s New IP ‘Shadow Realms’
Apparently, you’ve been chosen.
That’s the message of the strange teasers that keep popping up surrounding the new intellectual property being developed at BioWare, which is set to be announced next week at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Tentatively known as “Shadow Realms” based on some file information dug up by Internet super sleuths, we now have two live-action trailers to go with the upcoming reveal, both suggesting a dark setting that might skew toward horror, and a focus on people coming to realize they have special powers.
The earlier trailer leans on a creepy, surreal dreamworld that might also play a part in the weirdness going on in the new game.
There might also be other evidence to dig up about what BioWare has going on, as well. IGN has posted information regarding what appears to be a developing alternate reality game campaign related to BioWare’s title, detailing a couple of websites that seem laden with information related to the title. The first is a blog at www.seekinghenna.com, ostensibly about a person gathering information in the search for a friend who disappeared two years earlier.
Through “evidence” that appears on the site, users might wind up at www.woods-watsoninstitute.info, which is meant to look like a college but whose classes start the same day as the Gamescom reveal, and whose course offerings include such classes as “The Biological Implications of Mythical Creatures,” “Alchemical Properties of the Noble Metals” and “Martial Tactics Versus Incorporeal Enemies.”
The ARG has its own subreddit at /r/SeekingHenna where folks are trying to follow up the clues. We’ll keep an eye out for more information, so stay tuned for BioWare’s reveal on Aug. 13. You can also (a little) more information at youve-been-chosen.com.
