ArenaNet Opens Guild Wars 2 Trading Post, Fixes Some Stuff
Guild Wars 2‘s Trading Post, the game’s version of the auction house seen in other titles, is now live. Hooray.
ArenaNet has been making fixes to the game pretty steadily, and along with the Trading Post comes a number of other improvements that were added this weekend. The full rundown is available on the Guild Wars 2 wiki right here. Of particular interest is the information about account security: ArenaNet says it’s leaving the password reset feature down for the time being, and that players should not use the same account information from other games for Guild Wars 2, as hackers are using big lists of login information to systematically test for vulnerable accounts in the game.
Among the improvements are some login issues that players might have been suffering because of interrupted data being sent between U.S. and European data centers. The developer is also apparently adding more overflow servers to meet with demand and the high login counts, but these should diminish as players start to spread out throughout the available servers, ArenaNet said.
Still on the docket: party and guild systems. Those remain kinda wonky, although ArenaNet said progress has been made in that department. It’s a similar problem to the overflow issue, the developer says, and is mostly caused by the high number of people logging in. ArenaNet said it should have more information on a fix for those issues very soon.
