ARMA 2 Mod — City Life RPG

With the state of today’s MMORPG genre, it’s no secret that the word “roleplaying” has become virtually meaningless. Well, the developers of this online ARMA 2 mod are unapologetic about their enforcement of roleplay, and I say good for them.

City Life RPG 2 offers an online community with custom addons, developed over years into one of longest running mods in the Armed Assault series.

- Assets from the Operation Arrowhead expansion for ArmA2: extra content cars, torches, thermal imaging which is used on our police helicopter, and more
- Improved player save system
- A variety of custom cars and structures, ambulance and fire stations, Police headquarters with training rooms, Chargers, Challengers, BMW’s, and shooting ranges
- A range of jobs and situations: from lawyer to drug baron, mayor to repo man

The developers do have some requirements. Players must be aged 16+, must be registered members of their forums , must be on their TeamSpeak3 server with a working microphone when the play, and must be willing to roleplay.

The game server password is available only on the TeamSpeak server.

Here’s some gameplay footage, featuring police chasing down bank robbers. I must admit–it’s exciting, because to my understanding, both the cops and the robbers are human players.

Download the City Life RPG launcher here.

Dont go you get banned before you even get on it and if you ask for help you will get banned

On July 25, 2011 at 3:41 pm

This mod is the worst mod ever, it is impossible for beginners, once you actually start you are inclined not to do anything fun because the second you do you get arrested for several hours and you may not leave or go afk or else you will be banned. If you blow up a car that someone paid for with real life $$$ they don’t get a new one . To play as a cop you must wait several months. I can go on and on pages long of why NOT to play this . I have more reasons of why not than why to play it.

HOW DO GET THE GAME… jsut curious

On December 28, 2011 at 5:30 am

Miserable ordeal with crappy admins that punish the actual players and let the asshats run unchecked.

On January 2, 2012 at 1:12 pm

Don’t listen to the few people that commented here on getting banned for no reason. Each and every person banned ether 1) Has been using hacks to assist them whilst playing in our server or 2) Is a complete tosser that spoiled the enjoyment of others.

It’s real easy to play, and we have a full webpage dedicated to assist new players. Enjoy

just curious as to how this works i am a police officer in real life and i enjoy it very much but this is the first game i have seen come even close to the real deal. i need some help to get going i have everything needed except team speak not sure which one is needed thanks

On January 15, 2012 at 10:42 am

@ goertzen and other that want to come and play.

You need ARMA 2 Free, or ARMA 2 genuine copy. You also Need Operation Arrow Head for ARMA 2.

You also require to be 16 Years of age or +
You also require Team Speak 3 and a working mic to play.

@ BlueVein that is complete bull and you know it i can say i know for a fact i seen 3 people get banned for chatting about something in the “chatbox” and got banned since well frankly the admins were like OH you are using the chatbox as support and well frankly they were not talking about a support issue. Ego’s run thick possibly check yourself.

ing stupid, why would they put so much work into such an amazing and unique mod and ban every unique player that joins, I have had so many people join the TCG server that are hilarious and fun people to be around, yet nearly all of them have been banned for some stupid reason. I decided to check this mod out for myself, and found myself banned after one day. The initial reason why an admin spoke to me was because a friend I met on the server killed someone and left the server, and I was left with the entire server accusing me of deathmatching, I then spoke to multiple admin, all who were really friendly and helpful, and I respect them, names were Tuxor, CrazyMouse and SJ. But then a guy called ArMaTeC come along and starts to talk to me about the situation, I began to speak, and out of nowhere, he shouts that I just called him a lair, tells me its perm, then bans me. Worst experience ever, he needs to grow the up and learn how to run a server, ALL the feedback about the server I hear is , I wouldnt be supprised if I was DDoSed all the time. – TCG Head Admin, Bryce

On July 24, 2012 at 4:35 am

Well, I’ll just go ahead and say this here. I was permanently banned from the server for saying that the admins ban people too easily, ironic huh? I sent an email to the head admin, and I also tried to talk with him on Teamspeak, but like everyone else I was just banned from there as well.
I am sorry BlueVein, I like you and the other admins, but I would not recommend this experience to anyone else even though they have the best addons, a good server box, decent community, the head admin will single handedly destroy this mod.

On July 25, 2012 at 11:23 am

Horrible mod. You’ll get banned within hours.

I got perma banned for saying in a private chat with my friend: ”the administration sucks”.
I first got banned for sitting in a vehicle with a hacker (which is retarded) and then when I inquired about it, they said I was banned for speaking bad about them in a private message. Proof below:

On July 26, 2012 at 4:39 am

My friend gave me his car to use in the server, he was passenger. We drove for 5 minutes then an officer pulled us over and it was an admin. He said that I shouldn’t be stealing others cars as a new player and locking them inside and then banned me. My friend spoke up and told him it was his car that he purchased and he was letting me drive, he was then banned.

We’re both well mature adults in our late 20s, these admins are a bunch of immature fools. Don’t bother with this mod, if you don’t donate you’ll likely be banned for any random reason they choose to powertrip on.

This is basically just a rip off of a game mode for Garry’s mod called perp.

Fantastic Mod! Role play is encouraged and mindless killing of other players for no reason is punished. This is a mod for mature people, idiots that try to ruin others games get punished, full respect to the team that created it, the work and effort it must have taken for a small team to do this. A lot of people get banned for failing to read the rules, lie their way in because the are under 16, think they can jump from and a FPS into this game, and shoot anyone they like. As I said above its a game for mature people that understand what RPG means. One of the best out there. Dont bother if your not serious about RPG’s you wont last long, and rightly so.

On August 20, 2012 at 3:53 pm

@ Bluevein although it is very likely many of these people were banned with very just cause there is indeed admin abuse in this game if you anger them (namley armatec). For instance i was banned because there was a huge gunfight by the cherno parking garage and i started looting then i shot some people that shot at me first which there was no problem at this point. Then armatec logs on i point a gun in someones face (not sure who it was exactly i think may have been armatec) i tell him im leaving and not to follow me or ill shoot then i go around the corner of the garage, and the guy freakin followed me!! so i shot him and bam just like that i get accused of deathmatching and banned by armatec in under 20 seconds without even getting an oppourtunity to explain myself. also my many attempts at requesting an unbanned were just straight up ignored.. (sigh). Anyway to anyone wondering about this game i will say it is a very fun experience and definatly worth your time to at least try as it has a very good core ideal of comunication, roleplaying, and cooperation with other players and has to be near the top of my list of favorite games (despite the events causeing me to never be allowed access again) so ignore these trolls and try the game for yourself as it is still a unique game and i personally fell in love with it. My only tip for avoiding a bad experience is simply remember these admins have had to deal with to many people ruining the game for everyone else so yes there is definatly prejudice on the subject of rule breaking but all around as long as you dont drawn attention to yourself you”ll be fine.

For someone that was really wanting to play this mod i am very upset to find out that the people who run this so called “City Life” are very unprofessonal and rude. All i did was simply ask on Facebook why we couldn’t sign up on their website to play,.They banned me from their facebook making it to where i am unable to even ask questions there. It is very hard to keep up with the news and stuff when all you can view on their website is the homepage. I was very excited and ready to donate (if they needed any help) and play this mod, but after the rude response i received from whoever runs thier facebook page im done waiting and will find something else to do. I have never played this MOD, but have played MODS that are simular and this seemed right up my ally, but before i could even register i was assumed to be a “self proclaimed kiddy hacker that was going to ruin there brand new server.” If anyone is acting like a kid it’s these people. I dont reccomend even trying to play this MOD cause if they act the same way they do in game as they do on facebook your not going to be playing that long before you get banned there too.

I would think twice about supporting these guys.

Check out this video

On January 1, 2013 at 6:10 pm

I was looking to potentially host something for a new server , emailed the creators with no response.
joined the server and started asking question’s only to get banned and badmouthed on the way out. in my opinion this is a joke of a mod and the admins are douche’s. watch this go down in flames

On January 5, 2013 at 12:21 am

how do i join City Life Rpg i got the launcher

On August 31, 2013 at 12:48 pm

Here is the story

IF YOU BREAK THE RULES NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL YOU WILL BE PERMABANNED, no such thing as a warning system, no such thing as “hey there was a miscommunication” just elitists feeling like kings dropping the banhammer on anybody that looks at their stepford wife town. Let them burn, let them feel the full effect of the Napoleon complex they have.

This MOD really is awesome, but the people who run it don’t know a single thing except for how to make nice menus and half decent models for cars the outsides looks great, the interiors are . They Ban you for some of the stupidest . They think they are better then everyone else when really they know they have a good mod that makes the money off of donations but really dont give a about the community or the players that donate to them in the first place. Not to mention if you give them enough money you get Admin. :)

On January 17, 2014 at 11:20 am

Pay for cars with real cash…

Oh ya, I’m so going to try this…………………………………………………….. Sad

On February 12, 2014 at 9:30 pm

Here’s my experience, posting this on their forum got me perm banned:

I noticed a store to buy things, and thought to myself “Well this will help me get my character setup quicker aswell as help the server, and everything looks great so far so why not?”. Nowhere on the donation site it said anything like “There is a chance that for whatever reason you may be unable to use the items you bought”. I did my purchase of an AlphA Romeo and 4k (total was 9 pounds).

I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that during the drivers license test, lag and FPS issues would cause my car to drive very slow, i failed. After trying another 9 times i came to realise it was not my fault but something technical going wrong: My time would run out even before i’d drive into the town at the end of the route and had been doing so all along.

This means i spent 4 pounds on dealing with a broken game mechanic, still left unable to use the other 5 pounds i invested: my car. I decided to post about this as it was quite a serious issue, and even came up with ideas to improve the role play experience too. The community leader’s reaction to this was something like “So the rest of the people who got their test done were hackers, right?” clearly expressing his disinterest in even acknowledging the problem, let alone fixing it. My thread gets deleted and problem gets ignored.

My money is wasted on items i can not use and a community who’s officials and some members turn their back or even get straight up offensive when i am in need of help, or put question marks next to the things actually going on. Not a single person has expressed any form of compassion. I’ve even been threatened with bans in answer to mentioning the possibility of taking this up with paypal.

I feel misled, fooled and since no one in the community seems to be willing whatsoever to even acknowledge how wrong this all, is i’m affraid i’m left no choice but to rely on Paypal.

Enthousiasm and donating get punished.

I don’t know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering problems with your site. It appears like some of the text within your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them as well? This may be a issue with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen previously. Kudos
