ARMA 3 ARG Being Decoded

An ARMA 3 ARG (alternate reality game) was discovered over the weekend, and enthusiasts have been hard at work attempting to solve its mysteries.

The website was discovered via individuals monitoring the ARMA 3 Gamespy Servers and plays the sound of a dial-up modem when you visit. Forum goers have been putting their collective brainpower behind the endeavor of figuring out how to fully access the cryptic site and are posting their progress.

The website’s splash page contains numbers that correspond to Greek country codes and a Greek pub named “Taverna” on an island named Stratis. The area code for the Greek island Lemnos can also be found — and the two islands form part of a Greek archipelago.

Also deciphered are references to the fictional supercomputer in the movie WarGames, the ARMA 3 engine, and ARMA 2′s Private Military Company DLC.
