Assassin’s Creed 3 Rumored To Have Season Pass

Ubisoft is apparently expanding a service previously available only for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelation, with the creation of a season pass for Assassin’s Creed 3.

GameStop employees have reportedly received a letter from Ubisoft that confirms the company is working on a “season pass concept”. “We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team,” the letter supposedly says, “that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin’s Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver.”

If this is anything like season passes offered by other developers – THQ’s Saint’s Row pass and the Cerberus Network for Mass Effect 2 come to mind – then this likely means a bunch of early access to DLC at a discounted price, and possibly some exclusive content. Which is to say, it’s probably not going to be essential but if you’re really dedicated it will be a decent investment.

Of course, it being an Assassin’s Creed game, DLC is likely to be exclusively multiplayer, so perhaps maybe not.
