Attention Skyrim Modders: Host Your Mods at Game Front!

Way back in 2006, this little game called Oblivion launched, and it was good. It kicked ass, actually. Then the modding community–full of insanely creative people–came along and said “I can make this kick way more ass,” and they were right. Everything from improved character creation, to graphical upgrades and nude mods, the Oblivion modding community has something for everyone.

But enough about the past. The future is here, and Skyrim launches this Friday 11/11/11. By all accounts, Skyrim will sport the same level of modability as Oblivion.

Naturally, you modders are looking for a place to safely host your creations. Here’s a little about what we offer, and why we’re a solid choice for your mod-hosting needs:

Hosting Your Mods with Game Front

1. Free Account: You can sign up for a free Game Front file hosting account right here. We highly recommend this option, since it allows you to conveniently organize all of your uploads on your personal account page. You can upload as many files as you want, and each file can be up to 600 MB.

2. No Account (Anonymous): This is a good option if you just want to upload a file right away, grab the URL and share it online. Head over to our “Upload” page right here, and upload away. It’s that easy.

3. Also: Our writers are always looking for cool mods to write about, so if you host something awesome with us, drop us a line at We’ll consider featuring your mod on the homepage, maybe even include it in a video feature on our YouTube channel.

4. When will my files be deleted? It depends on what account type you have. Anonymous files are automatically deleted from the system after 7 consecutive days of inactivity. Official user account files are only deleted if they rack up 180 days (6 months) of consecutive inactivity. If you’re a registered user, and your file is downloaded at least once every six months, it’ll stay up there forever. This is another reason we recommend signing up for an account. Your files will thank you for it.

5. Affiliate Accounts: This is only for most prolific modders out there, and we cannot offer everyone this service. With a Game Front Affiliate Account, you get direct direct FTP access to the Game Front database, and the 600 MB upload limit is lifted entirely. Your files also never go away, no matter what. If you’re an active modder that produces good stuff, or especially large files like “full conversion” mods, hit us up at We’ll consider hooking you up with an affiliate account.

Check out our official File Hosting FAQ for more information on hosting your work with us.

So, what kind of mod are you going to build for Skyrim?

@Mark: That’s Aids. Don’t even bother trying to communicate with him, he’s always like that.

@Aids that’s not really quite accurate, they DO support the sites for about a year, maybe 2 before archiving them or abandoning them and letting them go to crap :)
