Aveline Returns in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PS3 and PS4
The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will include an entire hour of new, exclusive content starring Aveline, the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation. Ubisoft has gone into detail about what exactly these missions will entail, and how they play into the game’s storyline.
On the official Ubisoft blog, the game’s Lead Writer Darby McDevitt said that the game will see the return of Aveline de Grandpré, who’s slightly older this time around. Jill Murray, the writer of Liberation, will also be making a return to pen the continuation of Aveline’s story.
“It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older. It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story,” McDevitt said. “The present-day is set in Abstergo Entertainment – which is this fun, hip company to work for… at first. You are able to access the Aveline stuff because your coworkers are working on retrieving different genetic memories from all kinds of different people.”
This additional hour of gameplay isn’t included in the main story of Black Flag, which launches on current-gen platforms in late October and next-gen consoles soon after.
