Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Gets Delayed

The spiffed-up edition of Baldur’s Gate that’ll include enhancements also now includes a release date delay.

According to a post from Beamdog’ Trent Oster, the new release date for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced edition is November, pushed back from… well, today.

Oster says the delay is due to the increasing number of improvements the team and several volunteers are adding to the original Baldur’s Gate, such as a higher level cap and improved modding support. He says the team wants to launch the best game possible, which is why there will be what is effectively a delay of two months before it hits.

Honestly, though, what’s two more months for a greatly enhanced version of a classic? I’m okay with it.

Once is fine, but if they delay it again because theyre still adding stuff to it, then theyre going to get themselves in a rut. At a certain point you have to take a step back and say “its done, nothing more will be added”.

I prefer a couple months delay over a less than awesome product! :-)
