Batman: Arkham Knight Delayed to 2015
The year’s release schedule took another hit this morning, as Batman: Arkham Knight was delayed into 2015.
The wait for Rocksteady’s return to the Batman series got a bit longer this morning, as Batman: Arkham JKnight got pushed back to next year. In a statement to GameSpot, Rocksteady Studios marketing manager Guy Perkins said of the delay,
“We just want to make this the best experience that we can, and that takes time. We feel that we have an absolutely awesome game in the works, and we want to make it as great as it possibly can be. We just need more time to do that. If we didn’t give the team more time to do it, then we would be releasing something that we weren’t happy with. We want to make sure we’re absolutely nailing it 100 percent.”
While I’m never against studios delaying games to make sure the quality is up to par, the end of 2014 is starting to look a little sparse for new releases. We’ve already seen the Steam Machines, The Order: 1886, and The Division delayed, just to name a few, and it’s not even E3 yet. Still, if the delays result in better games, I don’t think there will be too many people upset.
We’ll have more on Batman: Arkham Knight from E3 next week, so stay tuned for all the news from the show.
