Batman: Arkham Origins On PC Ditches GFWL For Steamworks

Batman: Arkham Origins for the PC is ditching Games for Windows Live, the service which some might say “infested” the two previous entries in the series.

IGN reports that the new game, developed by WB Games Montreal, will have native Steamworks implementation and not retain any aspects of GFWL. The use of Steamworks will allow the game to take advantage of Steam’s friends lists for its multiplayer elements and is yet another sign that the GFWL is on its way out.

Batman: Arkham Origins is scheduled for a late October release, and is also coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3.

What will happen with the others? I bought Arkham City over 6 months ago and have not got to play it because of screw ups with GFWL. Please say they’ll release a patch that will let us just ignore GFWL and just play.
