Battle.net World Championship Gives Away $500,000 in Prizes

The Battle.net World Championship took place this weekend, November 17–18, in Shanghai, China. $500,000 worth of prizes were given away to finalists, who had been narrowed down from over 600 professional players from around the world to the 32 best StarCraft 2 players and 10 best World of Warcraft Arena teams. The matches were broadcast on six HD channels and featured some of the world’s most renown commentators.

Korean Protoss player PartinG took the SC2 crown and the $100,000 first-place prize. Team “Bring It” won the WoW frozen throne, consisting of Canadian players Snutz and Venruki filling in the Mage and Warlock classes, respectively, along with US player Kollektiv as a Shaman. The first place prize was $105,000.
