Battlefield 1942 Turns 10, Now Free on Origin
The Battlefield series has reached two milestones: its tenth anniversary, and its two millionth Premium member. In celebration, DICE has made Battlefield 1942 available for download for free on Origin.
DICE made the announcement via Twitter:
To celebrate our 10th anniversary and two millionth Premium member, we are giving away BF1942 for free! origin.com/demos #BF1942

DICE recently flip-flopped on its decision to allow color tweaking mods after saying that players who made use of them wouldn’t be banned, a move that wasn’t exactly popular with the fan base. Hopefully this giveaway will earn them some goodwill.
