Battlefield 3 Patch In Certification For Consoles

The huge upcoming patch for Battlefield 3 just got a little closer to release this week when it was confirmed by Global Battlefield Community Manager Daniel Matros that it is currently being certified for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The confirmation came in response to a tweeted question from a fan yesterday morning. BF3blog notes that the last patch was released about a week after going into certification, so Battlefield players can probably expect to see the improvements by Tuesday.

It’s assumed this cert applies to all three platforms. When it goes out, this patch will add hundreds of updates to Battlefield 3, including changes to gameplay, vehicles, weapons and some aspects of multiplayer. The list is too long to summarize, but you can see the whole thing on Battlelog.

The PC Patch doesn’t need certified but DICE has a history of holding the PC Patches until their lesser console counterparts get their certification by M$ and Kony.

The non boring over simplified meaning: it’s basically finished, they’re just making sure it’s going to work on the platform in question.
