Battlefield 3 Walkthrough

  • Co-op Campaign
  • Operation Guillotine

    1. You start this mission at night, overlooking the city. You’ll be prepping for the mission as you see the fighting from a distance. When orders are called in, you and the rest of the team will move up. But before you go, you’ll be given a mortar.

    2. Run with the team, but make sure to follow. You’ll be in some heavy fire with explosions going off everywhere. Keep running down the hill until you reach the spray painted wall. Set up your mortar at the marker and you’ll shoot off a round.

    3. Head toward your squad mate by the wall and climb over with his help. As you make it over, you’ll be under fire. Take some cover and shoot any attackers firing from the stone wall straight ahead. When the gunfire temporarily stops, follow your squad mate to the bottom of the stone wall and make a right along the water.

    4. More enemies will appear down stream. They’re bunched up, so shoot to your heart’s desire until no one is left standing. Keep moving down the water and make a left up the stairs. As you reach the top you’ll see a red diamond indicating that you’ll need to take that position out. Shoot the enemies there who are using the sandbags for cover. When they’re down and out, another red diamond will appear. Head there, but make sure to kill any stragglers.

    5. Fire from the second position will be heavy, so take cover along the way. There’s a wall that stands between you and the position where the enemies are dug in. Use the wall and throw a grenade to whittle them away. Eventually they’ll be taken out, but enemies will be along the path that lead up to the now decimated enemy position. Take them out, then run up the path to get into the building. You should see a marker.

    6. As you make your way up, the gunfire just doesn’t cease. Take cover and shoot anyone that you see as you progress to the marker. Push up toward the building and take out anyone with an elevated position, especially the windows. Keep moving forward as the enemies get thinned out. To get to the marker, head up the stairs that turn you left. There could be some enemies as you reach the top, so be cautious. You’ll then see your fellow troops.

    7. The door you need to go into will be first be opened by a flaming dead guy. Head into the door and follow the next marker. Press “E” to breach the door, then tap “E” to see your foot struggle with the door as it eventually opens. Follow the hallway to the next door and breach that as well.

    8. You’ll be ambushed and be tossed to the ground, but you can still shoot, so have at the guy who put you on your back. Then shoot the other two enemies who pop out. Continue down the hallway and through the garage doors until you reach Capt. Brady. When he’s done talking, head inside the Humvee to ride shotgun.

    9. Enjoy the ride until you have to stop. You’ll be forced out to move a car blocking the way. Follow the marker. When you get there of course you’ll be ambushed. Now follow your squad mate as you make your way up the bridge to kill the enemies who just ambushed you.

    10. Follow your squad until you get to the street where the bridge is. When you head out, the bridge will be to your left. Take cover behind the truck with it’s brake lights on and pop two bad guys shooting down at the rest of your squad on the left hand side. Now move from cover to cover using the cars to block the incoming bullets, and take out the rest of the enemies on the bridge.

    11. When they’re down, follow the marker, then press “Space” to climb up. More enemies will be in the vicinity, so use the same tactic as on the bridge. Use the cars for cover and keep pushing forward. When all seems quiet, a tank will appear. Run! Follow the path that’s covered in rubble. You’ll see a light up ahead above a door. As soon as you enter it, you’ll black out.

    12. When you wake up, your squad will be okay and are still with you. Follow your squad to find a way out. Once you see the night sky, you’ll see the tank pass by and will fire on you, but will be taken out soon after. But there will be more tanks.

    13. Keep following your squad. They’ll hop over some water, and take cover behind a wall, next to a set of stairs. Go up the stairs and kill the bad guys occupying the area. Now grab the Javelin straight ahead. The targets you need to hit will be marked. So zoom in with “RMB”, wait for the lock-on, and press “LMB” to fire. Two more tanks will appear. Take them out as well. Afterwards, regroup with your squad by following the marker.

    14. Everyone will group up behind a wall. There’s a lot of fire coming from the building up ahead so you need to find a back way in. Follow your team mate as he heads left around the building. Keep following him and take out any bad guys in the window up ahead. Follow your team mate past the sand bags and toward the side of the building. You’ll see more sandbags past the umbrellas.

    15. Enemies will appear here, so pop a cap in them. When the coast is clear, follow Matkovic to the wall and he’ll help you over it. Wait for him to climb up after you’re over. Now move toward the ladder and you’ll help Matkovic up. When he climbs up, he’ll lower the ladder for you and you’ll automatically climb it.

    16. You’ll then see Matkovic climb the railing then jump to the window. Do the same by pressing “Space” as you stand by the railing. When you enter, you’ll be in the bathroom. The door will open and Matkovic will get attacked. Press “E”, then “LMB” to take care of the assailant.

    17. Head out of the bathroom and you’ll be equipped with a knife. You still have your weapons though. Immediately take out the enemy who has his back turned to you with the knife. Once you do this, the other enemies will know where you are, so whip out your gun.

    18. Use cover and move up the hallway. I went prone since the cover on the left side isn’t that tall. As you crawl your way along the wall, you’ll see a sniper rifle. Take it if you wish and take out the bad guys that appear on the level where you are and the level above you.

    19. Follow your team mates until you reach a symmetrical staircase that goes down on the left and right. Use the wall for cover and take out any remaining enemies in the building. When it’s quiet, you’ll be given orders to clear the basement. Follow your team down.

    20. You’ll reach an elevator. Get ready to rappel down by pressing “E”, then slowly descend by pressing “Space”. Before you show yourselves at the bottom however, you’ll throw a flashbang, then swoop and kick an enemy. Take out as many enemies as you can while they’re disoriented.

    21. Use cover, peek out and take out anyone you see until the entire basement is clear. When it is, move to the marker by the gate. You’ll see a vault. Your team mates will open it. Head inside with them. Look around if you want, but your team will find a case. Help them open it with “E”, then watch the rest.

When are you guys going to release a walkthough on how to actally make the game work?

Or rather, how to make Origin actually work.

    On October 28, 2011 at 8:02 am

I’ve got a problem with part 3. It’s a bit different then in first mission (semper fields). I jump the train, there’s an explosion and I die. I don’t even see Solomon shooting me. I get out, press space at the right moment, explosion and I die.

    On October 29, 2011 at 1:51 am

i can dont it with ur walkthough on hard so any other ways

    On October 29, 2011 at 4:27 pm

During the Kaffarov mission when you have to shoot your commanding officer for the PC what do you press to shoot him? I have tried everything but just die. The normal LMB doesn’t shoot him what does?

    On October 29, 2011 at 6:02 pm

Game AE both sucks and blows!! You die for no reason.

    On October 30, 2011 at 8:26 am

In Operation Swordbreak, #10 above, I follow the wire, pull the plug and the guy comes in from behind and we fight. We get to the point where he head butts me and I just fall back and die. Nothing I try can get me past this point. Very frustrating. In the walkthrough he head butts me and we continue to fight–seems like it’s no big deal. What is the secret?

    On October 30, 2011 at 1:39 pm

Dude, you are lame, this isn’t on hard. Your walkthrough is WORTHLESS to me, and al the others who play on hard.

    On October 30, 2011 at 7:20 pm

Rick: There appears to be a bug with some of the quick-time events that crops up if you’ve rebound any of the default keys. If you’ve changed the keys that the game is telling you to use (example: I rebound Jump to Right Mouse instead of space), you’ll need to push both the key it’s telling you to push AND the key you rebound it to simultaneously. For example, when told to push Space, I had to push both Space and Right Mouse together.

I encountered this bug and it took me a whole day to figure out how to bypass it. Hopefully, this will work for you.

cant figure out where planes are on runway for part 10, ive looked everywhere and cant see em.

    On November 1, 2011 at 9:43 am

After reading these comments I’ve decided not to buy BF3.

Halo PC is still the best FPS. 8D

BTW, FF new format sucks, they should go back to the website format they had 5 years ago.
I used to DL many files here, but now I usually go to other websites.

    On November 1, 2011 at 8:48 pm

    On November 2, 2011 at 5:33 am

    @dstone Halo PC?!?!?! Really?

As to our format, we’ve got some awesome new stuff coming for the site. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Stay tuned.

I have some problems how i have to kill the target on ps3 in the end of part 9 comrades. Which buttons i have to use to kill the target?
First they say press ‘O’ then ‘R1′ and what is the next button to finish the target?

    Kevin Thielenhaus

    On November 7, 2011 at 10:53 am

    Hey BFF!

Here’s the full list of buttons for that QTE:

The last button to finish the target is “X”.

    Hope that helps!

    On November 9, 2011 at 11:07 pm

when i get there is suppose to be a villa but no villa no enemy nothing and above all my car is the air

    On November 12, 2011 at 10:54 am

Finished the champaign on my Win7 64bit PC system. Found these bugs:

    1) Subway car – after you jump between cars and get shot at; when the prompt appears, rapidly press the ‘space bar’ to climb up the side of the subway car. Watch out for flying debris, crouch to stay alive.

    2) In the end scene of “Kaffarov”: to shot the CO – press the “tiddle” key (left of # 1 key), then the #1 key and the “tiddle” key again, AIM and shoot, all this at a fast pace. You might have to repeat the scene until it works.
Great game, lots of action and surprises. Too bad it’s too short. Bye!

    yeah right

    On November 15, 2011 at 4:58 pm

    On November 18, 2011 at 7:58 am

Really bad game for all the hoopala -cut scenes are interminable- too many times “e” and “space” never work well-just very poor entertainment.

    Etonie E

    On November 20, 2011 at 4:06 am

Yeah I`m agreeing wiv a lot of us that these bloody buttons u gotta keep pressin especially on the PC version like, space, E, is absolutly total gob e!! Just leave things alone instead of complicating them wiv having to press this n then press that n then havin 2do the whole F-FIN thing ALL over again, n again, n again, coz it`s totally ruining the flow of the game and the game experiance. The game people probably as per usual won`t give a toss about our feedback u know!!!!!!!!

    On November 20, 2011 at 10:13 am

    @Sander (On October 30, 2011 at 1:39 pm)

If you needed a walkthrough for HARD-mode it wouldn’t be hard now would it? Pretty lame to need one really….

    On November 22, 2011 at 11:52 am

On comrades part 11 using xbox 360 what keys do you use to throw bloke under train. I keep hitting B but then he head butts me then kills me everytime thanks dave

    Kevin Thielenhaus

    On November 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm

    Hey DaveH,

Hit [B], then [Right Trigger], then [A]. Make sure to only hit the buttons as they flash on the screen, not before or after.

    On November 22, 2011 at 4:54 pm

    On November 23, 2011 at 2:53 pm

Thank you Ron Whitaker. I finially came back to the game, reset the controls to default and got through the fight in one try. Odd thing is that the only setting I changed was the verticle control which I play as inverted.

    On November 25, 2011 at 4:49 pm

Cheers dude, I almost thru in the towel on single player mode (veteran)Until I stumbled across this website. Your commentary with some humour is spot on,

    On December 12, 2011 at 9:04 pm

I’m on the “Going Hunting” mission on the 360, and can’t get past the part of calling in the Warthog/paint the laser strike. It says to press the green A button, but nothing happens, and then the time runs out and mission fails. “AAAAGGH!”, very frustrating. Tried every button, and cannot find any help yet on the web either.

    On December 17, 2011 at 9:24 am

Most of you ppl on here are talking trash, BF3 is without any doubt the best Fps ive ever played, if your game experience sux you have an out dated PC that cant unleash the beast in a game. If you PC is Anything less than a i7 gaming machine with direct X11, then no doubt your experience would cause you grief. BF3 is Incredible. And those complaining about Keyboard button sequences, have’nt you heard about XBOX 360 controllers for PC or are you 2 povo to afford 1. Alot of you are crying because your system is old and not up to the latest game tech. BF3 is Incredible. and on my system looks realistic as life itself.

    On December 19, 2011 at 6:18 pm

Your walkthroughs are the best.I especially like your narration. We certainly think and speak as one.Sounds like I’m the one speaking. Great work dude, keep it up.

    On December 29, 2011 at 3:21 pm

This game is not nearly what it’s advertised to be. I cannot really recommend it to anyone and will not buy it for my son. So much hype for so little reality. Medal of Honor is better than this at less than half the price.

having a hard time in campaign mode. follow IDE wire guy comes up behind me and we fight for a sec he head butts me and i die. Ive tried to press all buttons. On xbox. I’ve played BF and BF2 in the past, its been a few years but this is bull. just starting the game, shouldnt there be some instruction on how to fist fight.

    On February 19, 2012 at 8:24 pm

For the close up fighting scene and all who struggle: On Xbox switch to the default control settings just to be sure you dont mix up the melee attach button e.g., then press the buttons as they appear on the screen, usually LR, B or A (they light up if you press them not too early and not too late) Don’t press all kind of buttons like crazy or in panic because this wont work.

Somehow I already get stuck on this first episode, I keep falling of the train.
Rapidly press ‘Space’ does not seem to help. Tried it in combination with
A or D and W but I always fall down, never get up to the top of the train.
Pls help, this is an early bummer… what am I doing wrong ?

    Ron Whitaker

    On August 14, 2012 at 5:45 am

Frank: If you have changed your key bindings, you need to not only hit the Space bar, but you also need to hit the button you re-bound Jump to. Example: I use the Right Mouse Button to jump, so when that QTE appears, I have to hit Space and the right mouse.

    Hope this helps!

Ok. I feel like a moron. I just bought this game and I’ve gotten as far as getting the sniper in the hotel, covering the extraction and I’m stuck with trying to get back to street level. I wait for the plank bridge, jump down from level to level, but when I get to the railing, I’m stuck. How do I get through the railing onto street level to find Viper Squad? Help!

    On January 17, 2014 at 7:34 am

Meh…. I don’t remember well enough to tell you.

There must be a YouTube video of it somewhere.
