Battlefield 4′s First DLC Launches with Xbox One
The Second Assault hits Xbox One first.
EA and DICE have pinned a November 22 release date on the first expansion for Battlefield 4, Second Assault. That’s the same day that Microsoft will launch the Xbox One, and as promised at E3, Second Assault will ship as an Xbox One exclusive. No word yet on when it will make its way to PC or PlayStation, and EA did not reveal how much it will cost. If history is any indicator, it will be $15 unless you throw down $50 for a Battlefield Premium membership, which includes all five expansions.
In true Back to Karkand-style, Second Assault features four of the most popular maps from Battlefield 3, all optimized for its sequel. Given that my favorite Battlefield 3 maps were actually Battlefield 2 maps delivered in the Back to Karkand expansion, I’m hoping I’ll be able to play Battlefield 2 in Battlefield 4. And now I’m dizzy.
For the record, DICE has not yet revealed which maps Second Assault will include.
