Battlefield Hardline Leaked During Battlelog Update (UPDATED)

UPDATE: EA has confirmed the Battlefield: Hardline is real, and that it will be revealed during its E3 press conference June 9.

DICE will not be developing the next Battlefield game.

That, at least, will be the case if information from a recent slip up winds up being true. The information came out after assets for a new police-themed game entitled Battlefield Hardline were found in EA’s servers following a recent Battlelog update. According to the leak, the new game is being made by Dead Space developer Visceral Games.

Besides that tidbit, the discovered assets included a logo for the new game as well as information pertaining to possible classes (Mechanic, Professional, Operation, Enforcer) and a potential multiplayer map (Downtown). Several multiplayer modes were also named. Among them were Blood Money, Bomb Squad and Carrier Assault. Battlefield Daily has also managed to uncover a set of supposed in-game award graphics.

Running on the (probably correct) assumption that stuff is genuine, there’s a fair chance that EA was going to reveal this new game at E3. We’ve reached out to the company for a statement.

Mike has the correct answer.

All true BF fans want 2143.

But if they’re gonna pull an Activision and have multiple developers work BF games, maybe DICE will be the one to do 2143 after these guys release his police based BF game that nobody asked for.

So begins the yearly BF release nonsense…
