More Behind the Scenes with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Ten years on, Halo: Combat Evolved is getting a pretty substantial remastering with the Halo: CE Anniversary release. Yet another $40 remake of an old game from last generation’s hardware, the game is getting some new features: like Kinect support and Xbox Live multiplayer and co-op. Okay, sounds like fun.

Check out the trailer below, in which 343 Industries devs talk a little about their design vision for the game, which was basically, “Preserve the original gameplay.” They seem to have done a pretty stellar job of that while updating the visuals and adding what have become classic Halo series features to the game that basically kick-started the Xbox. Now if only they’d nerf the pistol some so it doesn’t become a poor man’s sniper rifle like it used to in LAN games in college.
