Behold: Crysis 3 System Specs

Are you excited for Crysis 3? Well, the system specs have been released, and they’re not for slackers. We don’t know if this means the game is going to be The Best Thing Ever, but we can confidently state you’re going to be spending a little extra if you want to play it on PC. Here they are:

Minimum:

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
• Dual core CPU
• 2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
• Nvidia GTS 450
• Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
• Example 2 (AMD):
• AMD Radeon HD5770
• AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)

Recommended:

• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
• Quad core GPU
• 4GB Memory
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
• Nvidia GTX 560
• Intel Core i5-750
• Example 2 (AMD):
• AMD Radeon HD5870
• AMD Phenom II X4 805

High Performance:

• Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
• Latest DirectX 11 graphics card
• Latest quad core CPU
• SLI / Crossfire configurations will run even better
• 8GB Memory
• Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
• NVidia GTX 680
• Intel Core i7-2600k

Yeah, I’m not sure anyone is going to want to skate by on the 2GB of RAM listed as minimum. A lot of games now have 4GB a the minimum so I would imagine that a game in a series known for its graphics is going to be very sketchy at the minimum.

Sounds like my PC should be able to run that fine at near-highest settings(AA probably at low, as well as a couple other things perhaps).

I’m not super excited about the game though, Crysis 1 was just okay, Warhead was fun, and Crysis 2 was just boring…I’ll probably pick C3 up in a year or 2 I guess.

Easily cleared the rec. 570 is still useful.

Meh, I liked crysis better when it was about huge open environments and fighting aliens that possessed Ice-based weaponry

Looks like I’ll be fine with my GTX 680…

Unfortunately I’m not to excited for this game.. Crysis 1 was great with the larger environments.. Crysis 2 basically felt like an extended tech demo to me. Very boring.

They already ruined the story. Give me the originally planned sequel for Crysis, where you play as Prophet heading back into the island (hence the cliffhangar ending), and disavow Crysis 2 completely. This is just a cheap attempt to reconcile their original plan where the player gets to play as Prophet, but Crysis 2 did not feel like a sequel. It felt like they took some ideas from Crysis and created an entirely new story.
“Nanosuit? Check. Aliens? Check. OK guys, we have all the important elements from Crysis, now let’s set it in a new location, introduce a new protagonist nobody cares about, make the aliens completely different from the previous games, kill off the best character from the first game (don’t worry, we’ll bring him back somehow), make a needlessly convoluted story, and this time let’s make the game a lot more linear since that’s the direction we’ve been heading since Far Cry.”
