Best Buy Offering “Minimum” $100 Credit for PS3, Xbox 360 Trade-in

GameStop isn’t the only retailer hoping to lure in next gen console customers with promises of trade-in cash.
Best Buy says it will give anyone who trades in a working PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 an in-store gift card worth a “minimum” of $100. That’s a nice deal considering Best Buy normally gives as little as $10 for a 20GB Xbox 360. Best Buy notes that different console models, based on condition, will be worth more than the $100 minimum. See how much your model might be worth via Best Buy’s trade-in estimator.
The offer is only good now through November 23 — the day after the Xbox One launches. So if you’re planning on hitting a midnight launch event and want to save some dough, you’ll want to do your trade-ins within the next few days.
The retailer is also upping the trade-in ante on used games. For example, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Batman: Arkham Origins will now net you $38 while Battlefield 4 will get you $40.
I’m definitely planning on dumping my PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as my game libraries for each, to buy the new consoles. By my estimates, I should save roughly $350. Not too shabby.
