Bethesda: Rage AMD Drivers “Were Not Compiled Properly,” Fix Incoming

Folks with AMD GPUs have been experiencing some issues with Rage today, like with screen tearing and corrupted textures and other graphical defects. And Bethesda says it’s AMD’s fault for sending out a broken hotfix in the latest batch of drivers. We spoke with spokespeople from Both Bethesda and AMD, and here’s what they said:

The most recent AMD drivers that include the Rage hotfix were not compiled properly and is the source of some of the problems. AMD is working on putting up a proper version of that driver.

Our driver team is aware of the issue. A fix is expected to go live by end-of-day EST, if not sooner. You can follow our driver program manager on Twitter @CatalystCreator or the @AMDRadeon handle for the latest update.

So take a deep breath. Everything is going to be all right, probably. We’ll let you know when the updated drivers go out.

We’ll be taking a more in-depth look at the PC version of the game later this week.

WTF? Blame other companies for their mistakes, lol. What about the people that don’t even use AMD / ATI? Who’s fault is it then FFS !!? The games ed and needs sorting, end of story, but blaming others for RAGE problems is just taking the piss.

thats why real gamers use nvidia

Real gamers who’s cards aren’t as powerful…haha.

Though I’ve used cards from both companies and have no complains for either, other than the tiny, nigh useless fans on vid cards today.

But generally ATI puts out the more powerful cards at the best pricepoint.

They got 6 years, they should have fixed it. One can argue its an issue with drivers but explain me how does a PROPER pc game not have graphics options in the menu apart from resolution and antialiasing?

Also explain how the FOV and the aiming sensivity are so consolish?

This is a console port and i preorderd this :(

Well, I hope this gives Big PCGame Industry a big black eye as to why people don’t want to pay for software. I’d be mad a if I paid $50 and it didn’t work! It’s also the largest game I’ve ever encountered (18-21GB!)

My System:
Processor: IntelCore 2 Duo
Memory: 2GB Ram
Video Card: Radeon 5700

Ok. Don’t everybody laugh at once. Anyway, it represents the minimum requirements as advertised on the box. Here’s what happens. It takes me approx 20 mins to cross the floor of the first room. Approx 10 mins more to get through the door. When I reach the platform and look out over the landscape, which looks pretty good, I realize that it will take me approx a week and a half to reach the other side. Well here goes guys. Wish me luck……………..

I´ve paid 50 bugs for it and yes I´m really pisst!
I mean what the hell? You can´t releas a broken game!
There is no wonder that more people downloade games on another way.

So why should I spend my money for a product that doesen´t even work?
It´s like selling a new car without seats and engine, it´s stupid!

So I have done a funny thing, I have sold my Steam account with the game.
That means I have more steam Accounts, for every game I have one account do it like me and give it back or sell it on ebay with your account
S**t on Steam! ;)

PS: Please stop buying bethesda games!
