Bethesda: ‘Still Some Work Left” On Skyrim Creation Kit

Remember how Bethesda wanted to have Skyrim’s modding tools, AKA the Creation Kit, ready to roll on launch day? Looks like their reach slightly exceeded their grasp and that means PC gamers will have to wait a bit longer to make all the characters nude. Bethesda’s Pete Hines tweeted the bad news earlier today:

Still some work left to do on both the Creation Kit and the wiki that goes with it. In the meantime, enjoy the game!

Yeah! Enjoy the game! I know I will be, at least once I finish Saint’s Row 3, which I am obsessed with. In the meantime, console yourself with our guide to becoming a werewolf.

I for one will wait to buy Skyrim until the construction set is released and reviewed. It’s the reason I buy the ES series and almost nothing else.

I am ofcourse enjoy the game and slowly learning all of its features. I have 8 hours in and I do believe I have barely scratched the surfface of this magnifacent game. I will do as normal and play through every thing before adding/creating mods but once that is done im a gonna mod da s*** out of her lol love ya bethsoft

I agree with Eric I always try and do everything I can before modding… With the exception of user made bug and glitch fixes that is

i think i will console myself “without” the guide lol nice typo

“…that means PC gamers will have to wait a bit longer to make all the characters nude.”

What a , obvious console fanboy. Stay small kid.

A huge amount of respect is deserved by the PC modding community, Bethesda has said that a great deal of the changes to Skyrim are based directly on community made modifications to Oblivion. They’re highly noticeable as well if you’d ever played any, which judging by:

“…Saint’s Row 3, which I am obsessed with.”

(which I lol’d hard at by the way) I’m 100% sure you never played past lolxboxvanilla.

Translation: “We’re holding back on the creation kit because we know mods will make the PC the best platform to play Skyrim on and Microsoft paid us to favor the 360.” Why in the hell Micro want that skyrim is better on XBOX, we play at this game via Windows, that’s the same thing no?

On November 12, 2011 at 9:18 am

I for one like the werewolf option on Skyrim but, For once I am hopping that someone would creat a wolf race like the cat race. (Kajite, I think is how its spelled) Like the Worgon on World of Warcraft. Not werewolf when the moon is up but a wolf race. (I’m a wolf lover, love wolves and wolf people, werewolves, and such. When the creation set is released, I will try to creat a race but if someone else beats me to the punch, thats fine as well.

On November 12, 2011 at 9:28 am

I also hope that someone will creat some of those animal companions. I have tried but have failed porly at creating them for Oblivion. If this new creation set going to be easer to use as they say, then maybe better animal companions will be created.

O to the M effing G!

I was very leary of skyrim at first…wasn’t sure if I could get excited about it the way I did with Morrowind (We’re gonna pretend here that oblivion did not exist).

I freaking love this game man….

Though Ross diffidently has a console bias tone and not to take away from one of the best modding community for any game in the world, But to be fair a basic nude woman mod has already hit the Skyrim Nexus in less then 24 hours of release and a detailed one in 48 hours without the help of the Creation Kit X_x.. No matter PC will top console in game longevity until console advance enough to support editors like the Creation Kit. :)

Hey, I wasn’t trying to dis PC gaming, I promise, and I certainly didn’t mean to imply somehow that because nude mods exist, modding isn’t serious or awesome. I think I’m allowed to be amused and impressed by nude mods, right? Also, thanks Lucian, that’s great news.

PS: Thanks for catching the typo ^^. Corrected.

On November 13, 2011 at 1:20 pm

NUDE ??? is that what you think modders are doing ??? what is this the SIMS
when the modding tools launch its going to be endless DLC for free
its like a never ending game
thats what most game makers are missing
people buy your product because they know that for a retail price they are going to get the game of a lifetime

On November 13, 2011 at 3:23 pm

I am a little sad it is a shame the they have destroyed the spells. there are too few spells now. srsly and they have taken what i liked with personality and slamed it in too a wall. but other than that i was good no great. but still i wished that i could do levetate spell once more. and marrige i dont even know how it works or if it inside the game at this point. well in role play i still think Morrowind is the best. lots of spells good story can kill all persons in the game and so on. and one more thing why put immortal npc in a game. Besthesda why are you not thinking . (sorry for my hate and sorry for my bad grammar/spelling

Lucian Dragos

On November 13, 2011 at 9:45 pm

I to don’t like how they are over streamlining the game systems (skills, spells, armor, etc.). But the immortal critical NPCs are one thing I did like, Too often in Morrowind I found my 10+ hour well built character game was worthless because of a stupid NPC going out and getting him\her self killed breaking the quest I needed.

On November 14, 2011 at 4:07 am

I for one love to use mods to “empower” myself. AKA become “god” (evil laugh)With the mod editor you can do some pretty awesome stuff, I remember in Oblivion I made a spell mod that turned me into an incredibly powerful lich/spellcaster and then another spell that would transform my character into a supertank/melee char. Ice spells that would freeze and paralize enemies for 7-20 seconds. Reanimate spell for unlimited amounts of time, unlimited amounts of skeleton legionaries! Console commands to spawn ungodly amounts of enemies and PAWWN every single one of them (evil laugh again) in other words… MODS KICK A** CAN’T WAIT FOR SKYRIMS AWESOME CREATION KIT!

On November 14, 2011 at 5:02 am

I actually quite like the way Consoles don’t get editors and other detailed things that the PC does get. It’s sort of the way it’s meant to be.

Consoles are made to be dumbed-down, easy-to-use gaming devices. Whereas PCs do EVERYTHING, can handle much more and are what creates the games the Consoles play!

If you get a Console and want *easy gaming* without the hassle and details of manually installing it and patching it, then it is only fitting that you are exempt from the other detailed things such as a full, powerful Game Editor.

Consoles are meant to be easy to use. The prospect of using what they practically used to make the game, on an Xbox or PS3, is just foolish to my ears.

On November 14, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Definately want a wolf person as a playable race, just doesnt make sense to exclusively make it so there is cats and lizards that are defined as “beast races” when a cat and a lizard contrast so much.

Also the culture and background of the khajiit would make sense for a wolf race if they were from some kind of tundra or snowy region, or SKYRIM! considering that they are moon based and wolves are very much involved with lunar activity, the khajiit and wolf race would see each other as kin and or allies.

a mod introducing some canine races while giving them believable lore would be awesome.

Creation Kit needs work??? why? Just give us the tools you used to make the GAME like you did in Morrowind, No more of this dumded down Ceationkit/set for the fans like you did with Oblivion, GIVE US YOUR TOOLS! As they clearly do not need work as you were able to use them ! GIVE US THE REAL EDITOR ,no more of this second hand crippled crap.

On November 14, 2011 at 3:47 pm

It’s a pity about the wait. But it gives me the chance to experience the vanilla game a little more, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
But the sooner the CK/ CS is released, the better. One or two too many bugs in the game – “Forsworn Conspiracy”, I’m thinking of you. So it’d be lovely to have those fixed.
And of course having the NPCs I liked most who died come back to life, possibly as a companion, is icing on the proverbial cake.

On November 15, 2011 at 6:56 am

@Lucian Dragos i can see your point on important characters but i dont see the point were children gets pwned by dragons and still dont die. and why even put in children there in the first place? and the funny and sad part is you can kill his family and his whole village. and if you are thinking of giving him an mercy kill you cant. cuz they think it is wrong. but they dont stop us from killing drug abusing and drinking. but mercy killing thats a no no. who i think its sad.

On November 15, 2011 at 7:24 am

if they lied about the creation kit then bethesda will soon be gone. and rumors are going around that microcrap has paid them to not make a creation kit. people are already selling there copys of skyrim over the delay. bethesdas sales are even droping.

On November 15, 2011 at 11:26 am

@Joseph: Really? Haha, that’s just plain funny :) There is ALWAYS a delay before shipping the construction kit. If people are selling their copies over a delay of less than a week, then more fool them.

@Jonathan Wint: keep up the good work on the conspiracy theories! Speaking in all caps is a required part of all good conspiracy theories, of course. :)

From what I can tell, the con kits for Fallout3 and Oblivion did have some missing functionality, but that functionality was generally stuff that was just unsupportably flakey in their version that they never used them themselves (non-heightmap navmesh generation comes to mind).

@Ecchi: immortal, unpickpocketable children is a political thing, needed in a game that’s being sold globally. Some countries have strange laws about that kind of thing and it’s better to give everyone the same game and let them mod it, than to have multiple regionalized versions of the same game, and have to maintain and debug them all. As an example of the badness that *that* can cause, the European version of Fallout2 had all children removed, which broke many quests. Fortunately, the unkillability of kids should be scriptable. Even if it’s not, there’ll be scripts that simply replace all kids with a childlike race.

As for why to include kids in the first place… they made the mistake of *not* doing so, in Morrowind, and the game was lifeless and dead. You didn’t realize how dead it was, though, until you installed the Children of Morrowind mod, and it came to life. Children make a *huge* difference to an environment.

On November 17, 2011 at 10:00 pm

Honestly, Even though Bethesda has in my opinion never made a bad game, it would be nice to see an ES game where you can join the Bad guys, and I mean the real bad guys, like If you could join Alduin and fight on his side for skyrim…..

That would be awesome, because then you could play the good guy, and have one game and play the evil villain, and have an entirely different game experience.

Especially when you add the civil war into the middle of it….

On November 18, 2011 at 10:42 pm

Well, becoming god is fun, but trust me you don’t need a mod to be a god in Skyrim. I have full Dragon plate, 96% magic resists, 102 fire and 51%/frost/lightening resist. Throw in a absorb health weapon and I’m basically immortal even on the hardest difficulty. 100 smithing and enchanting are definitely worth the grind. Not to mention you get rich selling enchanted iron daggers you previously made. Only thing I am missing is the health regeneration enchantment which I haven’t found a single item to disenchant that has that. In conclusion, dragons are my pets and I destroy all who oppose me! Muahahahahah!

On November 20, 2011 at 12:42 pm

The PC game looks awesome (could care less about console), good job Bethesda! However,I will not buy it without a free creation kit that is- at least- as easy to use as the previous construction set. I am happy to wait as long as it takes.

On November 21, 2011 at 9:13 pm

@DewiMorgan morrowind’s SC you could add new skills and attributes pretty much do anything. Not a theory Bethesda actually stated that they did cripple the oblivion kit WITH NO FILE merg FUNCTION so that people would not make a new games like say fallout with it, Then they released a Patch ArchiveInvalidation that disabled nude patches that had to be fixed, then they did a upgrade to CS that disabled lip-sync.
there about a dozen other things.

“that functionality was generally stuff that was just unsupportably flakey”
Creating skills attributes and and Merging files was not unsupportable flaky! And an till you actually use The Morrowind CS you really do not have a right to say what you been made to understand about the CS or claim my comments as conspiracy.

Now go troll some else.

Joseph is right the delay makes no sense and it probably to cripple something like keep the kids immortal. As the CS was on time for oblivion and was on the CD of morrowind. As for fallout they released the it late bc of Xbox Micocrap complaining.
PS I am nearly blind and a horrible typist and dyslexic so for me to say this is just SAD BUT DewiMorgan LEARN TO SPELL!

LOL this guy is a got, SR3??? BWAHAHAHA play a real game retard.

On November 23, 2011 at 11:50 am

Kaladorph, the vast majority of people who use mods don’t want god modes or cheats, the game is already way too easy for console babies. Most people who want mods want them to make the game MORE CHALLENGING or more realism / difficulty etc.

On November 23, 2011 at 2:21 pm

I am for one with ConsolesSuck, I like to download mods to make the game more challenging/realistic. (I admit that I have pushed that little “~” key and typed in tgm a few times to lift the burden and be able to move better when overencumbered, so sue me lol) It iswhy as of right now, I am planing on a new race, a wolf race with quests for them to take, I just need the CS/CK to be released so I can get to work on it. I like to have fun creating new ways to make the game more challenging, like I did with Oblivion, needless to say I didnt release any of my work. So this time I am waiting for the CS/CK so I can get my work out there. I sure hope my wolf race that I want to creat will make it to the mod map.

On November 24, 2011 at 7:34 am

I really want the CK to come out already. I mean, cmon! I am 60 hours into the game abd would really like to have a ton of bugs fixed.

On November 24, 2011 at 10:39 pm

Completed the game and achievements in 98 hours of game time. Not bad, problem now is I shelve the game. This is with 4 races of choice, male and female. I sincerely hope they plan on releasing the creation kit sometime soon, it’s rather embarrassing that this game did not last until December, alas that’s the life of a gamer.

Do not make promises you cannot keep Bethesda, you’re turning into Lionhead Studios, and god knows their company has suffered in past decade for it.

Where did you get the CS with lip-sync disabled? I have the latest one and still have to use it to make sync files for fallout mods… (it was striped from fallout G.E.C.K’s do to a software license issues as the generator was made by a 3rd party not Bethesda)

>_>; Odin other then trolling what could that comment be meant to do… That is the reason these boards are not taken seriously..

On November 25, 2011 at 6:52 pm

I for one would love to see a creation kit come out for the conventional gamming systems. Not to detract from anyone who likes to mod and has mods for their PC games. I to enjoyed the various high res mods for Oblivion and would like to see what some console gamers can cook up. A Creation Kit for the console would make this lover of Elder Scrolls hery happy.

On November 26, 2011 at 11:09 am

@ Odin: You know there is many people out there that would love to be a wolf race, like the Worgen in WoW. I myself, and a few other fiends of mine, have gone out and became a werewolf just to be a wolf race. I myself have downloaded the mod to remain a werewolf for a long time. I other perspectives, who said that if you dont like a wolf race dosent mean that you have to download the mod for it. The CK is for those who want the game to be theirs and to have a wider veriaty of races to play, like beast races other then a lizard or cat. I for one is on the verg of making a wolf race and a bear race. I even have plans to make a playable minotaur race sometime in the future. I like beast races and I will continue to creat them, rather I release them or not.

@Lucian Dragos it mas CS for oblivion 1.2 Quote “Lyp synch is making the lips move whilst the NPC is talking. On the construction set version 1.2.404 the ‘Generate lip’ is broken. BUT, on version 1.0.303 the generate lip button is working. But now we have a problem: If we install version 1.0.303, 1.2.404 is uninstalled. So, install 1.0.303, and change TESConstructionSet.exe into something like TESConstructionSet1.exe. Now you can simply use the old one to generate the lip files. End quote.
technically it’s just broke but it’s same difference we had to switch to the other cs 1.0 and use a hack to do mads. But it was losing mod merging that really hurt.Put a stop to all but a few big mods and there were a lot other adjustments to lessened the functionality of each CS release.

I will start enjoying the game when bethesda fix the GOD DAMN QUESTBUGS! thanks to the bugs i cant complete 2-3 of my main /side quests!

On November 30, 2011 at 7:54 pm

@myself i don’t what format your playing skyrim but ive noticed a large performance drop when comparing the consoles to PC/Mac. i played two profiles both very similar during the Civil war quest for the imperials: battle for fort Dunstad the PS3 version made everyone at Fort dunstad disappear(making t impossible to complete the quest), it was derelict and the PS3 started Lagging like Crap. how ever on PC the quest work fine, and ran smoothly. also ive noticed some texture glitches on both PC and the consoles, the consoles having the majority of them. on PC the only glitch is the water texture becoming transparent. on the consoles there are a few times where textures become plain Cyan, invert bump mapping and other weird stuff. my guess is that even PS3 and Xbox 360 does not meet skyrim Requirements when it comes to Graphics. my PC specs are(Cpu Dual core 3.0Ghz, 2GB DDR3 Ram, 1GB GTX 550 Nvidia Graphics Card). to most PC users, this is Crap. but it runs better than the consoles so far. Microsoft and Sony may be due for a new console with more power and better specs.

On December 1, 2011 at 3:12 am

Skyrim is currently in a state of . All they did was cut and paste oblivion, add a ton of static objects, delete a bunch of fun spell effects, and add dragons. Come the on! DRAGONS!?! Why? I have maxed out the amount of mods oblivion can handle, then combined all the mods into one, then maxed the top amount of mods again. My oblivion looks better then skyrim, plays better then skyrim, and is simply more fun then skyrim. Then Bethesda decides to insult the modding community by saying us modders can wait to make their character nude!! Really?? This is going to take so ing long to make PC Skyrim better then the modded PC OBlivion. Also i would like to mod skyrim with a good constr…. i mean creation kit “what kinda name is that” and not have to mod the damn creation kit to do the things i want to do in skyrim. However a tiny tiny light flickers in the vast darkness. The possibilities of what can be modded in skyrim is amazing, so not all is lost “thanks Bethesda for making the free hardworking modding communities do all the work”. I also enjoy the neat combat animation, but Bethesda you can wait for my money and thanks just like ill wait for the creation kit. This hater is done hating for today. Over and out.

On December 1, 2011 at 3:43 am

Ya i lied but i forgot to say nice attempt with the skill tree “i really like the idea with the scripted effects or perks or whatever u call them”, but im still adding it to my list of skyrim fails that are in need of changing. So, without further notice “most likely” this hater is done hating for today. Over and out.

Dear Bethesda;
Skyrim is unpolished game
1-Miscellaneus Quests’s map-markers sometimes does not appear on Map as should be.
2-Player characters can not ouse any spell nor weapon while they are ride on the horse. And for that sometimes our horses can die while we are attack by the bears on road while we are riding on the road.
3-Thieves and bandits on the roads not attack us while we are riding on horses. When you stand on your feet near of a bandit, they start to attack as they should be.
4-There are only one lodge for mages on the game. “The college of Winterhold” but there are several lodges for thieves and fighters.. WTF? You think the mages are “bad-boys” ??? No?
5-You add once more Vampirism disease, but there are no friendly NPC’s for vampires. But the Lycanthrophy disease, there are even marriagable Werewolf-NPC’s around here. WTF? The vampires are “bad-boys” and Werewolves are good-boys?
6-Some of our buyable houses are so small that needs to expand with mods.
7-Why the actual-journal (with a form of book) deleted for skyrim.
The journal you add is non-functional. I cannot follow the storyline with that. There are less comments in our journal even for the main-quests storylines… WTF?
Why am I supposed to examine that cave? Where the hell I retrieve that staff? Why am I supposed to meet that guy in the middle of an ice-berg?

That are seems to unimportant things, but they are really take down
And so…. those “nude-modders”.. will always there to save the SKYRIM… ;) ))))))

We have health, we have inventory-limits but we don’t have STR ?
We have magicka and we don’t have Willpower ??
We can use Bows and we don’t have Dexterity ??
This is the point that Bioware exactly falls on Dragon Age II….
İf you make RPG (FRP) game you have to make somethings not out-of-play..
We like all the TES (Elder Scroll) Series for it always contains the soul of RPG..
We are talking about damn Elder Scroll series.. not Mortal Kombat…
And… I am serious we want the Diary/Journal back.. like as the Mrrowind or Oblivion has…
There is less comments even for the main-quests..
Why am I should quit the game and seek some Walkthru for remembering the details I forgot with the dialogue with the other NPC’s ???

That are seems to unimportant things, but they are really take down
And so…. those “nude-modders”.. will always there to save the TES series like we always do.

+ Our horses can flee without any reasons…
+ Our companion or spouse can disappear on the wilderness when you order them to stay-put on the entrance on some caves.
+ your wife/husband has always 800 gp, even when you give them 5000 gp as a gift. (not even less or more just 800)
+ When you turning to werewolf form while you are riding on horse, your camera stucks with the horse’s angle.
+ We married and don’t have Sex ??? Oh, C’mon…. whom you kidding?
+ Why we want to turn into Vampire while there is no one even talks us..
But you can even marry with the Werewolf spouses… ??
Why there is no Vampire spouses on Game.. ??

My thing is that i don’t understand, how is the creation kit or mod kit not released yet, and everyone one are making nude mods, weapons, adobes, god items and crap?

what gives how are they doing that?

Yeah that’s right bethesda, there is already a nude mod out!

On December 20, 2011 at 2:43 pm

“Still some work left to do on both the Creation Kit and the wiki that goes with it. In the meantime, enjoy the game!”

There was still plenty of work to do on the game itself, but that was released on the appointed date. They released an incomplete, buggy, beta(at best)-stage game, so why be so precious about the one tool modders could use to fix and improve it?

On December 25, 2011 at 9:54 pm

Wow! This thread went to crap fast didn’t it? With all of the whiners. Most of you all that are complaining would find something to complain about regardless. If Bethesda had waited to release the game until every bug was fixed (Which is impossible with a game of this scope) you would have complained that it was taking to long to come out. Now granted some of the quest bugs and such are annoying and shouldn’t be there but get over it. It will all get fixed. If you want a game with no bugs then don’t buy a brand new game. Wait about a year. That’s with any game. Games that are much much smaller than this one all have bugs to work out when they are released. What’s different with this one? Do you have any idea the magnitude of this game? Just how much stuff is in it. If you try and find all of the side stuff you’ll quickly see just how gigantic of a game Skyrim is. I’m just happy that Bethesda is giving me a game that actually feels worth the money I spent on it. Which is more than I can say for most game’s that come out nowadays. They are lucky to last 15 hours.

“Can emed” how can you even compare what Bethesda did with Skyrim to Dragon Age 2? It’s not even close to the same. Dragon age 1 and 2 are like two different games. That’s why people hated the second one so much. It wasn’t even remotely as epic as the first Dragon Age. While Skyrim is actually bigger than Oblivion.

Another thing, with the construction kit coming it will be a never ending supply of new content. How can you even complain about the construction kit anyways. No one else is giving one away for free with their games. That’s the same as someone giving you something free that no one else is giving you and you b_tch about them not giving it to you fast enough. That’s a spoiled mentality if I’ve ever seen one. IT’S FREE PEOPLE. They are not charging you for it. You are lucky that you are even getting one in the first place.

As far as the deal with consoles, I agree that console gaming can’t hold a candle with PC gaming. I have a gaming household if there’s ever been one. I own a PC gaming desktop, gaming laptop, 360, PS2 & 3, WII, PSP, DS and so on. My wife and all of my daughters are gamers. So I put my money where my mouth is when it comes to gaming. Sadly though even though PC gaming is heads and shoulders above consoles (and always will be in my opinion) Bethesda is a for profit company and with that they have to go where the money is so to speak. And consoles are where it’s at right now. The amount of console games sold compared to PC games sold is ridiculously one sided. So it’s no surprise that Bethesda makes their game to play on a console and then has to port it over to a PC. If they want to stay in business making these epic games they have to. I wish it wasn’t like that but it is. Until PC gamers start buying games on par with consoles and stop pirating so much it’s not going to change.

As far as content goes A lot of the stuff they put in Skyrim came straight from the forums and the modding community of Oblivion. Even with that they can’t make everyone happy with every change they make. Just be glad that with this game you’ll be able to make the changes you want. You can’t say that with any other game. Chew on that for a little while.

I completely agree with lobo. This was shoddy ass work. They half ass it most of the content and spent way too much time on graphics and useless stuff. Yes the game is big Internetsuperhero, but so was oblivion and morrowind for their times. They had their glitches too, but they were small and almost unnoticeable for the most part. But when i play skyrim and theres an entire mountain that has trees and bushes but no ground…thats not small. I have found 154 big problems so far. Heres a good one, sneak while swimming, and you do the constant head bounce from swimming to sneak. Cant remember the name of the mine, but there is a mine where you have to jump over the blue or you fall into infinite. a lot of the mountains over by solitude have their surfaces wrong, such as, if you stand on the rocks of the mountains, your body is halfway in the rock. the quest content in dark brotherhood, companions, mages, and theives is small and almost non existent comparitively to the other games.

Ill bet you though the reason the editor is taking so long is because they have no one telling them to hurry up with it. so they are taking their time and going to ensure its correct. As far as the game though i was very disappointed with this overall and i blame the pressuring companies around bethesda for this outcome.

sorry InternetSuperhero, but this creation kit not free at all. I know most people do play on consoles and will probly will never even know the extent of joy a mod can bring but we here on the pc buy this game only because we can change whatever we want to whatever we want to feel this joy. Sure they put a make believe zero on the price tag for the creation kit, but i would never even buy the game in the first place if this creation kit never existed, and in fact bethesda would probly never have got so famous and big if they didnt have any mod tools like this. In short this kit is not free because it is part of the game that has charged me $60 for something that i didnt get yet. That is why im angered and that is why im complaining. bethesda should just give me the kit and ill finish making it myself(no joke intended).

Oh ya and guys and girls a so called user friendly construction set will mean that a lot of the goods will be cut. But, fear not many great modders and myself will be there to MOD the creation kit itself and add great bug fixes and features that bethesda wont.

One question i would like to ask of anyone willing to answer.
Doesnt microsoft own the windows OS(obviously they do own it)? If so what is the big deal with bethesda withholding the creation kit if microslut will still make tons of money?

Oblivion = Dumbed down Prettier version of Morrowind
Skyrim = Dumbed down Prettier version of Oblivion

And hurry up with my construction set Bethseda…

Notice I didn’t say Creation Kit/Set…

Wtf is Bethseda doing?

And doubt there holding it back because “microsoft says so”

There construction set is not the same as the released set (obviously)
It’s more or less a fleshed out map editor

The more and more i play this ridiculous game the more i get pissed off that they just ruined a potentially spectacular game. This is horrible! I dont think they even tried to fix any bugs in the game let alone QA it. At this point, even if the dumbed down retarded version of the CSet comes out, there will be more time into fixing this game than it would to actually do some mods. Bethesda, you had better pull your heads out of your asses cuz i dont think im gonna buy another one of your games after this stunt. ive seen text games with more content than this . Ill just stick with oblivion.

LMAO you are so right when you said
“Oblivion = Dumbed down Prettier version of Morrowind
Skyrim = Dumbed down Prettier version of Oblivion”

I never played the ones before morrowind but it is the best or them all in my opinion. Think i might play it again but im kinda afraid too cause i got like 100+ random mods on it that i forgot about and its using a .exe crack and i broke my disk so i cant reinstall it.

@InternetSuperhero i somehow missed this but u said
“How can you even complain about the construction kit anyways. No one else is giving one away for free with their games.”
WRONG!!!! Try neverwinter nights 1 and 2 and i know these are not rpgs but try almost any rts “freespace, warcraft 3, age or empires, empire earth, some of the command and conquers, and so many more rpg and rts games that i will not mention due to the fact i never used the editors that exist for them”.

EnragedModster, and others – These sorts of suites work by interfacing with real code hooks, things you cannot modify using anything short of a disassembler unless you have the original code. Sometimes a fix or a feature relies upon internal mechanics to work properly, rather than anything done in the editor, which becomes a problem when the end-user tries to do something you don’t expect (for instance, circumventing a fix in place) and the non-scripted portions of the interaction fail. There are plenty of things that should work in the OCS that don’t, or are glitchy if they do, this being the primary reason.

I’d much rather wait a bit and have mods that don’t crash the game constantly and needlessly. This, along with their steam integration, is probably (or should be) what they’re working on most rather than any sort of user friendliness issue with the editors. Give Bethesda some credit – they’ve done this three times already and they know very well what makes their game sell well past its expected expiration date. They’re going to expose as much of the engine as they legally can to us, because it affects their profits if people make stuff for them. And if it’s not enough for you, much of the legwork behind the OBSE can be ported to Skyrim, simply by finding equivalent values in the program’s memory and leaving the rest as-is.

Dammit i forgot about the steam factors and their stupid automatic updates. steam has the option of disabling automatic updates but it doesnt work for me and many others plus i dont really have the time at the moment to find the cause to my issue. Oh and most of my mod work is for personal use only due to some of these issues in using the OCS(and yes skyrim crashes every 30min on my computer).

In regards to the script extender im hoping the team behind SKSE gets some sort deal with steam to auto update their tool because im not looking forward to finding and or waiting for a new program version to dl everytime skyrim gets an update.

Guess its time i shut up and accept im stuck with texture and .ini tweaks for now.
