A message posted by Bethesda’s official Twitter account states that there are no plans for any DLC “exclusives” for Dishonored, but indirectly suggests that there will be DLC for the recently launched title.

The tweet reads:

That phrasing suggests that we can expect DLC in the future, else the “DLC plans” they will announce will be rather short.

Some of you may have already beaten the game — what kind of DLC would you like to see for Dishonored?

I’m still in the middle of playing the game, but I’ve been loving every minute of it to the point that I was curious what DLC would come out. Alas, I came across this post. hehe.

If/when they announce/release DLC, I’d like to see an expanded on portion of the same universe. Part of me staying with the dark side of the game would like to see an older twisted version of Emily (should she live) take over the kingdom and turn it into a steam/oil smogtown where there’s brothels, pubs, and factories with Massively Epic cogs and gears turning, Fire Glowing along the metal walls, smoke and steam blowing, and grease covered peons working the dangerous floors(losing arms in the machines). There’s just a lot to be said and used in the atmosphere and world they made. That crossing between light and dark, gruesome and beautiful.

But, That’s just me.

I haven’t gotten through it yet, but based on the review, it seems like one of the best things they could do is expand on the motivations of The Outsider.

I’ve preloaded the game (as of writing, it doesn’t get unlocked in New Zealand for another 3 hours), and can’t wait to start playing.

From what I’ve heard, the consensus is the portal problem: What’s there is great, but we want more. I probably agree, given that it was only a 5.3Gb download.

Still, will be looking forward to see what Arkane offers in the way of DLC.

I beat the game already and this game was amazing, the gameplay, the story, the atmosphere…..the only problem was….THIS GAME WAS TOO SHORT!!! i beat this game in like 7 hours on my first playthrough, idk how, i just did. The game escalates very quickly, and theres not many side missions to keep you busy. When i beat it, the first thing that came to my mind was “are you kidding me?” i mean dont get me wrong it’s a great game, theres just not many things to do besides getting runes, bone charms, and the mission itself. The game was great, the ending…..a big disappointment. Im hoping that they do make DLC for this game, but i feel like if they did make DLC, it would just be like weapon packs and rune packs.

2 things I would like DLC of, 1 expanding on the outsider and who/what he is and what his motives are. Also I would like for them to expand on the Assassins that had the powers that you do, they don’t explain who they are, why they have those powers and what their overall purpose is

@Beopooe

What are you talking about? If it’s the pre-order stuff, it’s nothing substantial. I’m pretty sure this tweet is in reference to how Bethesda has a deal with Microsoft to bring Skyrim DLC to the 360 a month before anyone else gets it. Given that Bethesda published this game, it’s a legitimate thing to wonder about.

Beat the game last nigh and i loved it, i wish there were more non lethal ways of close quarters combat though, such as a syringe of sleep syrum or some sort of device to knock people unconscious. The game was also a little short and it would be nice to expand on some of the characters. I honestly think they should just begin development on another game under the same title and not wist time with dlc.

I would love to see an expansion of the world of dishonored. We have been in one city on one island. What about visiting the other islands, or even making an expedition to the wild continent? What if the outsider is projecting from there, or a new unknown conspirator escaped into the wilds? I want to see more of this world and see all the different lands and cultures.

DLC is quite a broad term, are they referring to an expansion or is it some sort of a new gadget that doesn’t really prolong the experience in any way, that’s what I think is the question on most fans minds.

After beating the game I think they should do something to help you learn a bit more about Corvos; his past, how he became so strong, why he is so close to Emily (I’m sensing she is his daughter), and what he intends to do in the future. I also agree with other comments. I want to know more about The Outsider and Doud’s assassins. So many wonderful things. All-in-all it calls for a prequel and an sequel.

Finished it but i would like to see a refurbished map, like Pre-Plague and Post-story, i know it would be hell seeing the endings and all, but still would be awesome.

Also would like to have a small story about the assassins and being hired to kill people, but instead of a non-lethal/lethal scenario, have choices on how you either kill them (IE Poison/slaughter/get someone else to kill him to pin the death on another) Or have choices on non-lethal scenarios (Framing/sabotage)

Maybe more variety on bones? Had a hard time choosing with them but that could either be because i was SOL when i was got them or there isnt a good enough range, i understand they are meant to be minor benifits but still, didnt like the ones that were provided.

what if covo had die in the end which he did and was placed in a tome or grave and then the emperis was to have a child and time went on and this so called void had bad things in it like all-sorts like humans that were sent to the void and the wild beast that have some what dark magic as well butt its new type of power you haven’t seen b4.

And they can do all shorts like the beast being able to transform into humans, like werewolf’s in a way but its because they have this dark magic to do so and maybe there can be a twist to it as well like the enemy’s you have encountered b4 like the guy who set covo up has be able to brake free from the void and so of all the over things that have come with it all and now they try to croupt the land and because of the void the they guy who set up covo was able to have a power that was really strong and leveled up to what the outsider had.

And as the emperis son you was summoned by the out sider and he tells you how the world might end because he wasn’t strong enough to stop all off the wild beast and humans with dark powers from braking out the void and its now your turn to stop that from happing.

because of all of what’s happening he asks for your help to stop this and he then shows you new stronger powers like never b4 like becoming invisible and being able to summon wolfs, birds so that you can posses one and fry around for a amount of time and you can use them to distract but they don’t kill the gards or who ever your using it against, your able to teleport maybe a bit more far this time or to use a power to open doors by using the force if you know what i mean so that the enemy comes out to see what’s going on and they see no one at the door and then a surprise attack from how ever you like to chose.

more or less as for tools you could use maybe a gadget or wire that you can plant on the roof or up on the sealing to hang your enemies where no one can find them and maybe a poison gas bomb or sleeping gas bomb to get a range of enemies but you can only have 2 or 1 and some dlc’s like the bonus packs like the special edition ones to add in as-well so you have a fat piece of dlc there thats we can look forward to and more game play to it. sorry for my spelling but this is what i could get out of my head and Im not good at written my ideas down into words as much but this is what i believe to make the game more interesting and also the dlc should explain what the void is in detail and why does the out sider exstist and what does he want to do with the world and etc. thank you for reading if can read it :/

I would like to see 2 -3 more missions minimum along with new powers like you get in the special edition , i would be happy to pay up to £12 for these things

Ty

On October 13, 2012 at 8:08 pm

They should create some more missions, either that take place halfway through the story, like after the “twist” or after the end. More missions definitely though like at least 8 more. So good, I want more!!

For the DLC I would like to see more bone charms/ equipment upgrades/ or a new game+ feature just don’t put any new runes in the +game. I was disappointed by the fact that when I got some of the upgrades/bone charms it was pretty much the end of the game.

Yeeeeeeeeeeees, looking forward to it! I’d say it was too short, but it took me 18 hours to get through it, and I’m still pretty sure I’ve missed some stuff. Now to start over and do a high chaos playthrough. <3

Corvo

On October 14, 2012 at 8:51 pm

As Corvo himself, i have to admit… i would like another chance at protecting the Emperis. No, not the dead one… her Daughter, Emily.

I can imagine I could have missions, in that mission file on my main menu screen.

Heres how the mission would go.

8 years after Emily has taken the throne, the in-fighting of the court has finally subsided, and the cure to the plague was finally created, its time for Emily’s 18th birthday ball. You have been apointed control of the Royal Guard. The Royal Guard is a new group of highly trained watch soliders, specifically designed for escort of the Emperis and other important royal figures.

The party is being held in the re-designed and re-ferbished Dunwall Tower. Guest from all walks of life have been invited, other than those few still with the plague. Not only the rich, or the royal, but even the poor get to atend her royal birthday.

Your job, make sure all security measures are going according to plan, and keep the Empiress safe. Even better, try to make sure nothing causes the party to stop, or be ruined. Uncover any plots of assassinations, and stop them before they happen. Also insure the saftey of the guests if possible.

Also another mission that would be very enjoyable has you traveling to a completly new part of the isles.

Plugging the Plague (Spoiler Warning)

If you found the recording were Lord Regent confessed that he brought the rats to Dunwall from an outside source to get rid of the poor, then you would know the plague had to originate somewhere… somewhere in which they would probably have a cure… now its all about finding them.

Now its time to get to the bottom of this plague. Your being sent back out to the isles again, this time your being sent to a special resort a hundred miles or so from Dunwall. All evidence points to this resort housing the man that made the plague. They call him the Plague Bearer.

Your no longer a wanted man, but the mask is still needed as this man knows who Corvo is, and what he looks like. However the mask may draw suion from the resorts security, so try not to be seen with the mask on (You would not start with it on). After talking to the people around the resort you must locate the room of the Plague Bearer. When you get to his room, you find it trashed, and rats crawling all over the place. On the bed you find the Plague Bearer, dead, killed by his own plague. In the room is a note, the note tells of a lab secret lab he has at the bottom of the resort hotel.

Then you hear a scream in the hallway, when you walk back into the hallway you see rats have already began crawling all over the place and infecting people with the plague. The plague quickly spreads around the resort, and it becomes full of weepers. You must get to the secret lab and find the cure the plague bearer said he was working on. The cure was not finished but Skolov should be able to finish the cure.

The island resort becomes a Quarentine Zone, but its not your problem, you have to cure the plague in Dunwall.

would love to see new locations and new powers. when I say new powers I don’t mean added on to the ones you already have but a new set altogether maybe with blink being the only constant.

I’d like them to go int o th preguel ****spoiler alert**

There is clues though proving Emily is corvos kid and really there’s not much explanation in the very beginning also the outsider would be good. I for one have beaten the game and I believe the stealth ending is the best but all 3 are good

This is a great game as is, and i would like the resources to be applied to a sequel,

This game was long enough, unless you are a shootem up kinda gamer, then i imagine it’s very short.
I would like to see them hide the runes and charms better. and more of the secrete door stuff. the little in the game was great, still wonder if i missed a few.

There’s plenty you could do for a DLC. Explore the ancient civilization underneath Dunwall. There are three other isles to visit. I’d like to go on a mission to the Abbey of the Everyman. I managed a “low” chaos runthrough of the game…but I killed every single overseer I found.

Didn’t each distributor offer a specific bit of preorder dlc? Specific bone charms and whatnot? GameStop offered the “Arcane Assasin Pack” for example.

Corvo #9

On October 21, 2012 at 6:41 pm

I would like to see a dlc on the expansion of the sentence Lord Pendleton says before his death on Kingsparrow Island…”We all knew you were sleeping with the empress.” Some backstory on how corvo got the job of bodyguard to the empress or corvo’s mission he returns on at the start of the game.
This game left so many questions that dlc is a must. Get to it bethesda…

From reading the books and notes they have in the game about the Outsider, to me he is a figure in history, past present and future, he is creation and destruction. In one book it says that he is neither good nor evil. Therefor he has no purpose but to watch and slightly influence how the action Corvo affect the world around him. As for the assassins, Draud mentions to you later in the game that he also talks to the Outsider, he visits the shrines, he was given these powers as well. From this I can only think that Draud taught the assassins how to use the powers also, just not to the extent that Granny Rags, Draud, and Corvo have. By this I mean if you have the time stop ability level 2, and freeze time around Draud, everyone freezes except for him.

Those are just some of the things I have noticed in the game, also if anyone got the evil ending try beating it on a low alert level, the ending is a little better. Just use Blink, Dark Vision, Time Stop, and have your Agility level 2. :) Makes the game a lot better, plus you can get on top of everything ;)

NEW GAME+ it took way too long to collect all those gadgets and runes just to start the game from scratch…

WeedyB

On October 22, 2012 at 2:19 am

…and more use of the environment!! there were only dumpsters to hide bodies and those metal cages you could drop on people’s heads. how about some broom closets or lockers to hide bodies?? then i don’t know, maybe something other than a metal cage i could drop on someone’s head… lol.

P.S. i should be able to shoot unprotected lights. thanks.

u should make a dlc so the queen does not get killed, as in you get to play before she gets murdered when corvo is away gathering information for her, he could find out that they are plotting to kill her and u can stop it :)

I love Bethesda first of all, been playing since morrowind. But I was disappointed with Dishonored. I won’t lie, I enjoyed the game. I played it straight through the first day. I was disappointed with how the game was set up, you don’t get to really unlock enough spells to do fun combos until it is too late. There is no kind of free roam to do what you want. I wish they had taken some from Infamous in that sense and merged their assassination style gameplay. This game coming from Bethesda and what it was built up to be, I felt like it has so much it could be but just isn’t there. Also how the bone charms and blue prints are set up, just like the spells.

As far as DLC I dno what I could want. More assassination missions from the new empress, suppressing nobles who are resisting her claim the the throne etc, I dno that’s not my job lol. Also some kind of free roam. Rework spells, leveling, upgrades and bone charms. There is so much potential to this game, I’m disappointed with what we have here. Unless I see some impressive DLC and updates this game will remain a rental for me. I’m really glad, 5 days is more than enough for me.

On October 24, 2012 at 8:18 pm

I’ve beat the game… Twice once as “batman” I did not kill a soul and I ended the game happy with the ending and the killer credit music, after accepting that as “my” ending I decided, it’s probably more fun to kill everyone in sight, it is, The kind of DLC I would like to see for dishonored is maybe a lengthy story expansion considering it can easily be beaten in a few hours and that is a turnoff, maybe they should steer clear of new bone charms and more runes because there is not a sandbox nearly big enough to try all of my neat little tricks in In the end you have to choose between 2 or 3 crazy cool abilities and the bear essentials (blink 2, and agility) and I just don’t like that. I think runes should be as abundant and they should do almost everything the exact same in the DLC but with a much longer road to the assassination/ non-lethal takedown. The killing of the high king was very disappointing and the ceiling-tall-tall-boy in the room made the process of killing him frustrating and the setup of his movement was rather awkward, he should have escaped and had another mission in between that and have one more mission before the flooded district which is tedious. What we could use is a break with us just assassinating some none story important character with tons of guards, few tall boys, and a lot of workarounds instead of a get-in get-out like the pendletons or the party, maybe a mission in the “outside,” my review is lengthy enough and I will close here.
