Bethesda’s Not Sure If Dawnguard Will Ever Make It to PS3
Bethesda continues to have trouble with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Playstation 3. Despite releasing the first DLC pack, Dawnguard, for both Xbox 360 and PC, PS3 lags behind. And now it seems as though Sony’s platform may never catch up.
In a blog post this week, Bethesda updated players by saying that it isn’t sure if it’ll ever be able to bring Dawnguard to PS3. The post states that Bethesda is “working with Sony” but isn’t sure if it can ever solve the issues that are holding the game back. “We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone,” Bethesda’s forum post reads.
The update is pretty well devoid of details, unfortunately. Bethesda didn’t say what the issues are or what any future plans might entail. The post also mentions Hearthfire, the newly announced Skyrim DLC, but didn’t indicate whether that’s being held up by the same issues as Dawnguard. What’s more, Bethesda did note that work on Hearthfire is taking up development time, presumably slowing down work on a Dawnguard fix for PS3.
We’ll keep an ear to the ground for further updates, so stay tuned.
