BFG Tech Ignores “Lifetime” Warranty Terms

In the continuing saga of BFG Tech’s meltdown, the company is now changing the terms of its product warranty to suit its best interests. One of the key selling points for the products of the company in the past was the “Lifetime Warranty.” Apparently, in light of the company’s disintegration and reorganization, the “Lifetime” term now means” as long as we care to support a product, our product lifetime”, not the life of the product itself.

The company claims this is a factor in the liquidation of its assets and is now returning RMA’d products unfulfilled. According to a copy of a message from a RMA victim the company issued the following statement:

BFG Technologies Inc. is in the process of winding down and liquidating its business. Unfortunately, our major supplier would not support our business. As a result, we are returning your graphics card without being able to repair it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This normally would not be a huge concern with a company going out of business, except unsuspecting buyers might see good deals on these card, have issues and end up not getting the appropriate support. Additionally the BFG website does show new products.. so in the end Caveat Emptor! May the Buyer Beware!
