BioWare Confirms Playable Qunari in Dragon Age: Inquisition

Players will be able to create male and female Qunari characters in Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare announced at PAX Prime 2013 today.

The long-requested race will be made playable — making this the first in-game appearance of Qunari females — and both genders will be fully voiced, BioWare representatives said during a hands-off demo at the convention. Plans for voice acting are still in their initial phases, BioWare said, but the developer is considering including a number of different voices, potentially offering specific actors for each race and gender.

Though BioWare is still keeping a lot of story details close to the vest, the demo also revealed a few extra tidbits — namely, that Leliana and Varric Tethras will both be able to join the player’s squad. We also know that Morrigan will be returning in Dragon Age: Inquisition, although BioWare hasn’t yet revealed what role she’ll play.
