Mass Effect 3 Delayed to 2012, but Here are Two New Screens

Mass Effect 3 is a little further away from hitting shelves.

Bioware pushed back the release date of the final installment in its sci-fi trilogy to the first quarter of 2012. The information showed up on Bioware’s forum, along with a couple of new ME3 screenshots. They’re hardly a decent consolation prize for having to wait longer for more Reaper-busting, though, especially when the game was originally slated for the 2011 Holiday season.

Here’s the quote from the forum, which is careful not to mention the word “delay”:

‘Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations,’ said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer Mass Effect series.
