BioWare Making SWTOR Free Again This Weekend

Remember how Star Wars: The Old Republic was free to play last weekend? Apparently, it was a great success, or at least, that’s what BioWare is saying. It was such a big success, apparently, that they’re going to do it again, and they’re not even going to make you wait. SWTOR will be free to play again this weekend, starting Wednesday evening, March 21 at 10:01 AM PDT, and ending Monday, March 26 at Midnight PDT.

Now a more cynical mind might wonder if this sudden avalanche of SWTOR freebies has anything to do with BioWare’s other huge franchise being the recipient of a major, and well deserved backlash. But not me. Because I’ve managed to hold on to my ideals. Ahem.

See more about it on on the official site

Either that or testing a potential trasition to F2P, because the numbers aren’t as gangbusters as they claim.

haha Oh yes. EA, I know this hurts you…
I posted on it, saying Hold the Line, while being civil and calmly explaining what was going on to my fellow RetakeME supporters… And surprise, the only ones being uncivil and calling people names were a few who thought we were whiny and pathetic nerds… But nevermind them… We’ll continue to hold the line together! RetakeME.

Bioware knows that they are hemorrhaging players faster then they getting new ones (hell a quick look at server lists in-game reveals that, almost all but a few have gone from ”Standard” to ”Light” with only a few getting to the ”heavy” and none getting full).

Well bioware this is what happens when you release a game thats still in beta as a full game and fail to adress the issues and instead waste time on a god patch thats comming way to slowly.

It did not help much that you have severe community problems (Bioware social trolls) and a horrible customer service.

I don’t work weekends. Wonder if my job would consider letting me stay home Wednesday 10am to midnight Monday.

The game is actually fine…and this is a way to get more players and people into it.

“come back on March 22th” (swtor site).

How does one even say this?

I’d love to play but I forgot my (or didn’t write down) 5 questions. Can’t find the reset link.
