BioWare Responds to Free ME2 in Black Ops 2 With More Freebies

Roughly one thousand purchasers of the PC version of Black Ops 2 have allegedly found a free copy of Mass Effect 2 included with their new game, and BioWare has decided to grant 50 of those gamers the entire Mass Effect Trilogy for free.

Posted on the official BioWare blog, the developer explained that the first 50 fans “affected by this phenomenon” who send in a picture of themselves holding their “special disc 2″ will receive a code for a free PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

The team had a quaint sense of humor about the issue; read this excerpt from the message:

“If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.

“If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help!”

Good for them, Mass Effect is a better franchise by miles.

A smart move, they’ll be needing more fans to make up for the countless lost over the ME3 ending/PR debacle.
