BioWare Says Sony Won’t Let It Run Multiplayer Challenges on PSN

If you’re a Mass Effect 3 multiplayer fan, you’ve probably seen the weekend challenges BioWare has been running for players — Xbox 360 and PC players, that is.

Players of the Playstation 3 version of the game, on the other hand, can’t participate in the various operations BioWare has created that challenge players to collectively kill a certain number of enemies or take on a certain number of gold maps. And the developer says that’s because Sony hasn’t approved them yet.

BioWare posted on its blog about the situation, which says that Sony hasn’t “approved the promotion” to allow BioWare to offer the challenges to players.

“We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC,” the post says.

Unfortunately, that means Playstation 3 players are going to miss out on this weekend’s event, Operation Resurgence, which promotes the game and ties into the new Resurgence DLC and the two new maps that come with it.
