BioWare: The First Two Mass Effect Games Are ‘Just a Preamble’ to Mass Effect 3

BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn is pretty pumped for Mass Effect 3, calling it the Super Bowl. He told Eurogamer that it’s the biggest of the biggest deals.

Certainly it’s a very polished experience. In the story it starts at a time with a very singular focus and purpose in the galaxy. You could say the previous games were just a preamble to this moment. Everything has been building to this. It’s like the Super Bowl. Who cares what happened in the regular season? Now’s the one that matters.

Well, I still care about the first two and the effect they have on this game. This quote makes me worry that the decisions I’ve made already won’t matter as much as they should. Sigh.

Well he said “Everything has been leading up to this” so i’m hoping that your decisions in 1 and 2 will influence how well you do in Mass Effect 3.

I do admit though I am somewhat concerned that my decisions in my playthroughs may not matter as much as they should. I’ll be dissapointed if this is the case.

One of the big appeals of this game series was that your choices did carrie over to the next game. For them to have these decisions not really matter in the long run could piss some fans off.I mean not every choice you make has to have a major impact.Im sure weather you killed Fist in the first game or not wont have anything to do with the Reapers in ME3

The problem with ME2 was that they streamlined it too much and with the story switching to the collectors it wasnt so much a direct sequel to ME1, though it was still an amazing game in my opinion. I am very much looking forward to ME3, i even had a crazy dream about it last night! xD
